I bet she wears her fursuit to Pride parades.  :P

Interesting I will have to tune in and watch thanks for the heads up zack. So until the show airs I won't have much of an opinion. As for predictions I can see no good coming from a tlc show, tho I could be wrong.  it will probably more or less just give the fur community another slap in the face since most tv shows that air tend to like to bash us with misconceptions and feed the close minded public and the trolls out there. But kinda interested to know who this fur is and what her fursona looks like.

I just looked the show up on TLC.  Looks more like a warning shot for damage control than anything else.  The previews of the current episodes scream "DESPERATE FOR CONTENT" and I have no doubt they will look upon things badly.

I think I will need to watch this one, if only on the off chance that it becomes the next "That CSI episode" scenario. Why is it that the media frequently manages to only find "freaks" (who frequently are quite functional, normal people with an interesting and artistic hobby) to dredge up and wield as a brush to paint entire subcultures with?

Because that's what gets viewers.

TLC's become a bit of a pit lately, content-wise. I mean, Sarah Palin's Alaska? Really?

PurpleVeggie

Uhg :P I finally caught the commercial (DVRs let you skip TO the commercials as well as OVER! amazing!) and watched it a couple of times.

Do you think she signed up to be on TV or her parents/loved ones called them up on this?

Actually it might not be so bad if they make the episode about HER and HER ALONE and not go into the whole "what furry is" thing.
Quack :V

Yeah, I miss it when it was all about home renovating and interior design. Those programs weren't shining examples quality broadcasting but they weren't nearly as bad as what replaced them.

I got to admit though, that show 'Hoarders' is somewhat entertaining. Only because I know people like that.  :P

I've said and done things I regret here, so I just don't do anything instead.

z00p

I predict it'll just be more anti-furry fire fuel.

oo, that was fun to say.  Anti furry fire foowel!

Ok, I had to dig into this little bit, and just let me check with people who maybe know a bit more about it. But what i heard was, she made the fursuit specifically for the show. ??? Seriously? And they're advertising it as she insists on wearing it everywhere? I'm pretty sure that's false advertising. I could understand, maybe, if it were for aa couple HUNDRED thousand, but $1500? Really? if that's how much her dignity costs, then she has more problems than a supposed "fur addiction" don't you think?
Whether you think you can, or you think you can't, either way you're right.
Laugh, and the world laughs with you. Cry, and the world laughs harder.

I googled it, trying to find an internet copy of the commercial and came across this: https://forums.vivisector.org/index.php?topic=447.0

Which, I should point out, is not an entirely fur-friendly website, :\ There are some nasty opinions on there. But the quote is linked to this article here: http://www.flayrah.com/3375/furs-feature-tlcs-my-strange-addiction-jan-19

Ironically, her wikifur page says "left the fandom after filming" though my roomie and I speculate she was ostrasized out of it. Especially if you read the forum link, where it says she actually put a preemptive response on YouTube defending herself. Unfortunately the video has already been removed, xp I would've loved to see what she possibly could have said in defense.

Ugh.. I can see it now.. She's going to act as retarded as she possibly can to give furries a bad (worse) name.  Do I even wanna watch?

YEH I DO!

Renwaldo

Huh, that's too bad. At least she had enough respect to leave. Although it sounds like she was trying to justify her behaviour via youtube response.
