Ultimately, I don't think we know a lot of the more traditional formats. A lot of the ones you mention, for instance, Roxxy, I'm unfamiliar with. What's Emperor?

I am going to  provide some links that will show you guys what each format is ^^

Arch Enemy: http://www.wizards.com/magic/magazine/article.aspx?x=mtg/daily/feature/91

EDH(Elder Dragon Higlander): http://mtgcommander.net/rules.php
Emperor: http://www.wizards.com/Magic/TCG/Article.aspx?x=magic/rules/emperor

I don't feel like going into all the Limited formats right now mainly because I don't play many of them :p
As I stated in my original post I am more of a causal player and rarely stick to the tournament formats, other than EDH.

Oh and one more thing.....What is a 'Bitch' match Thanatos?

Skitkat

Thanks, Roxxy! A lot of these formats look -really- interesting. I'm excited to try them out with my group. EDH, Star, and Two-Headed Giant particularly.

Lune

No sir, we do not approve.

Zen

I played I guess vintage.  We always had a house list of rules and banned cards, but never any limits.

The Star format actually sounds, and maybe Arch Enemy, but with AE it sounds like it would be too easy to pinpoint who is targeting whom.

You're Welcome ^^
OMK! I love EDH so much, this format is a testament to a persons deck building skills! X3
We play a lot of Two-Headed Giant at the mall every Friday

Zen in AE it is a team of players against the Arch Enemy, so the idea is they all target him/her while he/she tries to wipe everyone else out.
The Star format is a lot of fun! I just wish my group played it more often >_>

About a month ago my group and I decided to mix EDH with Arch Enemy! That was a interesting series of games we had :3

Ack sorry, I meant Assassin format, not Arch Enemy.  AE would be good with a bunch of starters and one experienced player.

'tis okay ^^
I have only played assassin once and from my experience with it, it was quite challenging to play out because the deck I was using was designed to eliminate all my opponents with massive amounts of damage/life drain. My ex'es stuffy doll deck won that game. Frigging stuffy stuffy doll Prototype Portal combo >_<

AE on the other hand is only good if the Arch Enemy is the beginner and the rest of the players are all seasoned Vintage players with decks that have power 9 cards in them! Okay I might be exaggerating a wee bit there X3
The idea of Arch Enemy is that everyone at the table has at least some experience with the game under their belt because the Arch Enemy has the upper hand with his Scheme cards that are used before and after the other players turn.
To give you an Idea of the power of the Scheme cards I will provide a few links to a couple of the scheme cards I have in my Scheme Deck.

I am so vintage, that I play mostly with *gasp* Fallen Empires  :monocle: for all the flack it gets I think it is the most unique and fun sets, and it is the core component to many possible theme decks :P

That sounds pretty interesting. Maybe after my group has tried out a few different formats, we'll mix and match our own. If we do, I'll tell you how well (or, more likely horribly) it goes. :3

hehe I would love to hear what you guys come up with for the mixing of formats X3

Luna

Thanks for the format list, Roxxy!
Skit and I tried out a 1v1 commander before trying it with our friends.. I'm having fun running a super-high mana genesis wave deck.

32 mana, a ton of ways to collect them, and then genesis wave with 19+; draw 16+ cards and play any permanents that cost 16+ or more, for free. Funnnn. ^^

I wish I had an angel-For one moment of love
I wish I had your angel-Tonight
Deep into a dying day
I took a step outside an innocent heart
Prepare to hate me fall when I may
This night will hurt you like never before
Old loves they die hard-Old lies they die harder
