My family will know I'm furry when I post pics of my fursuit up on facebook when it's made. I honestly don't care what they think/make of it. It's my life, not theirs, not like they'll care. :>

My sister has some idea, she borrowed one of my flash drives to save a project and came back all weirded out. She said she'd been looking around and found my stash.

"So what did you find?" I ask her, and she's cracking up. "I saw FOXES!!"

She's ok with it, and we share a level of trust and understanding.

If my family makes a big deal out of it, oh well. Pretty sure they wouldn't. See, for me, the fandom isn't centralized around sex and whatnot. I'm part of it cause I like furries/anthros and I think a lot of the people who are part of the community are extremely talented or awesome to get to know. It's also because I've always loved mascots and wanted to be one, so what better option then to get my own fursuit?

As for what my family thinks:
My sister knows I'm gay and furry, she thinks it's awesome. She's the only one who knows. None of my family lives near each other (almost all of us 8 hours away from each other or further) so whatever they say to me doesn't really do much. It's my life, let me live it how I want. :>

The world would be better if thats what we were like, because animal instincts don't destroy ecosystems, ours do. We ARE destroying the planet, thats just how it is, and always will be.
That being said i think intelligent animals would be more aware of the ballance of the worlds ecosystems, and would make more green citys that run on solar power and hydrogen cars. so thats my ideal world but if i feel that is the ideal form of a human it then trickles down to sex. i find anthros more attractive than humans.. i feel sex is a modarate part of my fandom, but im not partaking in any orgys anytime soon.
I am a Bi/m pref furry and my family knows because i dont hide anything about myself........ well the porn i like being exempt from that.

i think that our animal instincts would stop us from destroying like humans do. animals ballance in an ecosystem. we have no ecosystem because we are human and we desroy everything we touch. at least we would be more earth friendly. at the verry least i think that we would make more steps to save our planet

They know next to nothing, Similar to Neox I once was a hard core kin type, but that was like a decade ago @.=.@ (im old..) even when I found the furry community 2 year later I said nothing because even despite me being a relativity average person IRL, I hate it when someone finds out anything personal regarding me and does a poor job at understanding and skews it. It seems to happen a lot with me so instead of trying to explain things to people who will not listen, I just keep my private live private.

It just saves me trouble and annoyance really, I do how ever only mention things like Furry and my Gayness to my closest most trusted friends. :P

Well you know, it takes a few broken eggs to make an omelette.  To familiarize people with the PROPER definition of a furry and what the furry community really is, it's gonna take a few people like you and me to take the fall for all the stupid sons of bitches that make this place look like a filthy brothel.  By that, I mean it's gonna take folks like myself who just don't give a shit what people think of their associates and their interests to puff their chests out and say "Yeah, I'm a fur, and I'm also a productive member of society and I am NOT a zoo/pedophile.  DON'T associate me with the unemployed WoW-addicts that make the community look bad because you know me well enough to know that I'm the opposite of that."

If you want to be a part of a community that has a bad rep, you're going to need to NOT be a closet-freak.  Hiding in the furry-closet achieves nothing because people are GOING to find out eventually, and when they do, they're going to see your insecurities as a sign that you agree with the idea that the furry community is a messed-up world that nobody wants to be a part of.  I am not saying that people should jump out of the closet in their fursuits and start shrieking "FURRY PRIDE FURRY PRIDE YAAAAAY!" :gay:  What works is when someone asks you "What's that you're looking at on that computer thar?" You straighten your spine and say "Well, I'm enjoying some alternative artwork that caters to this little subculture called the furry community.  It's basically a community for people who love fantasy and character-based artwork and roleplaying.  It's not too bad if you steer clear of the weirdos. =)"

haha, if my parents were to find out that i'm bi they wouldn't have any problem with it, we have a lot of gay relatives and are understanding about that, but when i was younger they caught me looking at some furry stuff, and i was given a hash talk and told to 'look at normal porn' if i even have to at all.  :gay:
