Ill toss the idea at my mom and see what she can come up with.

IF we do decide to do the shirts she can the art work lay up which usually adds to the cost of the shirts.

I think having BCFurries T-shirts is a great idea!

The design of the logo will be influenced by the purpose(s) of wearing the shirts,
and the target viewing audience.  Do we want to foster a sense of belonging to a
group?  Do we want to communicate the group's existence to outsiders who may
see us wearing them?  Or somewhere in-between, to identify BC Furries as distinct
group, to furs from other locations?

I like the idea of incorporating the Kermode bear into the design.   If we use just the
outline, it works well on a white background, but is easily mistaken for a plain brown
bear.   If we use a solid white fill, it gets lost on a white background, and the thickness of
white ink needed to make it solid enough to look good might make it susceptible to cracking.

The paw print is overdone in furry circles for the same reason the red maple leaf is
overdone in Canada in general: it is a simple, easily identifiable, iconic symbol.
Maybe it can be incorporated into the logo in a subtle way, like as a ring of small paw
prints encircling the main logo.

Using the 1906 BC Coat of Arms as a basis is a good idea, but I feel it is too busy a
design to work well on a T-shirt.  I would keep the lion, but make him also anthropomorphic,
like the elk and sheep.  And it only really speaks to people already familiar with the Coat of
Arms.  Maybe use it as one of the banner graphics on the website.

Other thoughts... It would be good if we get a local, well-known furry artist to do the artwork.
Would we be willing to do regular production runs, as more furs see theT-shirts and want to
get one?

I think all of those are great reasons for having BC Furries clothing.

All good points. I'd like more wider input into what folks would like. Even if you're not an artist, a some sketches like what I did might get the ball rolling more.

Well, I just want to break even on the cost. If I have to pay an artist to do the final design, I'll incorporate it into the cost of the shirts. If more want one after the first run, I'll order more as long as I know I can break even.

I really like the Spirit Bear idea too.
I've said and done things I regret here, so I just don't do anything instead.
