I just save regular backups, and have the advantage of being able to match up IP addresses in game to usernames on the forums ;)

Just played for the first time today. It's really neat.  :)

Unfortunately I'm on a laptop, and my mouse doesn't have right/left buttons, so all I could do was remove blocks. No matter how far to the left I clicked it would just hammer and destroy cubes rather than placing them. Is there an alternate control or any way around this?  :(

I'd also like to apologize for accidently demolishing a tiny part of the wall on the stone bridge. Sorry! :'( I tried to fix it again but no matter which way I clicked it just ended up doing more damage.  ???

Check if your keyboard has a right mouse button on it, it should look like this:

I bought the alpha of this and have been addicted. :P  Are you running a classic server or something, though?  Just looking at the screenshots and the way the lava isn't flowing..

I have no idea if this'd work with the dedicated alpha client, as the in-browser version doesn't want to run on OS X - but I can't use the URL format, then... do you have the IP/hostname and port number for direct connect w/ the dedicated client? :)

Kithop

Actually, managed to get it working in a different browser.  Built a little treehouse. XD

If anyone else has bought the alpha with the multiplayer that currently has mining support (but no damage and lots of bugs with certain items like minecarts) and is interested, I might be able to host a small server here for that version as well.  What do you guys think?

:police: Regardless of your intent (and I understand you were trying to contribute), don't post about pirating software here - amongst the usual reasons, individual people are not immune to being sued for such things these days... http://www.digitaljournal.com/article/274415

Yarr Matey's!  let a pirate tell you the happening >:3.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File_sharing_in_Canada

Taken from the never failing wiki. ^^"

In a nutshell, in Canada, if you download with the sole intent for PERSONAL use, and not for commercial use it's legal
(applies to movies and Music as of this time, Applications still haven't gone up for debate yet as far as i know)

Basically-RCMP deemed P2P Legal with the exception of Uploading copyright files.

Just don't UPLOAD copyrighted info without permission :p

... On a side note, I hope and wish those who decide to go this dark scenic route support their local artist by still BUYING the albums or movies...or applications ect :3

That may be true, but every site owner (including the ones here) will want to cover their asses when it comes to discussing this stuff; I'm sure there's ways for them to get nailed for 'facilitating' things.

Kell

I wasn't sure if we had any rules against it, and assumed that the mods would tell me quickly if we did. :P

Anyway, sorry for the trouble. :P

Awe well, SMP is sorta lacking right now as it is, I'll just test things out with anybody I can get ahold of on MSN and learn what I'm doin till I buy it. :P

Kithop

Alright, I've bit the bullet and gone ahead and created an SMP/Alpha Server. :)

hey0, llama, and Cuboid mods (if I have them all working right), meaning I can designated protected areas, if you want a spot to build a house or claim a cave or something in.

(Very) regular backups, no whitelist (yet), 10 user limit depending on bandwidth, and some of the known glitched items (e.g. tnt, minecarts) are disabled.

This is, of course, different from the creative server in that you have to actually mine for the materials you use, and you can create items at workbenches by following recipes.  See http://www.minecraftwiki.net/ for more info on all that.

Depending on how things go and the level of interest, I will start designating ops as well. :p
In the standalone alpha client, click 'Multiplayer' and type in:kithop.caThat's it. n.n

Also, some epic trailers someone made:

Minecraft Teaser (fanmade)

Minecraft Fanmade Trailer

Minecraft: The Life of Schrauben

edit: added one more

Kell

Just so you all know, I have a server currently running as well, but its... well, last time I mentioned it, the mods got mad... :P

Anyway, If anybody is interested in hosting a LEGAL Minecraft server, I would be happy to spot the computing power and bandwidth, free of charge. Its a good server (7 gigs ram, quad core) and the server has been running great so far.

So if you need a non-home system to host this on, lemme know :D

Kaji

If there are still any furry minecraft servers up, lets gets some IP's posted. I haven't seen a single one yet.

kithop.ca is still up.  Port 25565 I think; what ever the default port number is - you can just type in 'kithop.ca' in the Multiplayer link.  It's Survival Multiplayer / Alpha; the one you have to pay €9.99 for. :p  Let me know if it's not working, has the hey0 and Cuboid mods installed.
