Yes, Tengen Toppa  Gurran Laagan is definitely one of my personal favorites, but Baccano! is a close 2nd. Didn't like FLCL that much (shoot me I know).

I just got into this one as well but so far I find the Manga to be a lot better. It's still really funny though.

.hack//SIGN is my favorite anime. I don't watch much of it anymore, unfortunately, although I wouldn't mind getting back into it. (I still attend anime cons, even though I haven't watched anime for years... and I have no idea who the people dress up as anymore. haha)

My first anime though is Sailor Moon... I started watching for the art and got sucked into the storyline from there on it it was moreless hook line and sinker lol
