Hey furries!

I'd like to probe the current rental market amongst our little group to see how much interest there is group living.

As a little bit of background on myself, I have been living with furries for ten years now, in many different types of living circumstances.  I am familiar with rental laws and regulations, and have the income to undertake a house rental without problems.  I am willing to absorb a certain degree of loss to get a furry household off the ground if need be - which means I am also willing to wait for "ideal" roommates to come along over filling the place with random folks who may not get along or wash properly.

Now why would I want the stress and responsibilities of running another furry house?
- I accept that it will suck most of the time, however:
- I like the group atmosphere
- Living under a strata has been no end to troubles for me
- Now that I've got my life in order, I'd like to start giving back to the community

Group living - Pros and Cons
PROS:
- Always stuff to do
- Group discounts
- Cheap rent!
- Furry gatherings!

CONS:
- Messiness!
- Shared amenities can lead to lineups
- Personality conflicts
- Less privacy
- Noise

For the purpose of this probe I'd like to ask the community a few questions.  Answer as many or as few as you like.

As this is strictly for information gathering, I'd like to add that any responses will not be taken as commitment, for either you or for me.  I also welcome private responses in the form of PMs, which will be held in the strictest of confidence.

Now, here's the questions!

1. Are you interested in living in a furry house?
2. In what cities are you willing to live? (West/North/East/South Van, Burnaby, New West, Richmond, Coquitlam, etc.)
3. How much are you expecting to pay for rent?  Would you pay more for certain amenities? (backyard, skytrain, dishwasher, etc.)
4. What is the maximum number of other furries you are willing to live with?
5. What is your opinion on smoking/drinking/pets?

Please note that these questions are merely to help me decide if getting a place is feasible and what type of place I should be looking for.  They are not the criteria on whether or not you would make a good roommate.  That list of questions is MUCH longer  ;)

1.Yes.
2. Burnaby, new west, Vancouver, As long as it's near a skytrain station or a bus stop that goes to one.
3. 400-450, Will help out with minor other costs like food.
4. Doesn't matter, as long as we can pool some of our resources.
5. Smoking is ok, But cats are a problem, allergies. (Dogs are ok)

By the way, I'm used to messiness. It seems to run in my family.

Although I don't need to move, yet...

1. Are you interested in living in a furry house?

I would be, yes.

2. In what cities are you willing to live? (West/North/East/South Van, Burnaby, New West, Richmond, Coquitlam, etc.)

That would depend on where my job would be. As I am not done school, I do not have an idea where. Possibly either Richmond or Vancouver.

3. How much are you expecting to pay for rent?  Would you pay more for certain amenities? (backyard, skytrain, dishwasher, etc.)

a) Depending on the housing. I would research this with my room-mates.

b) Yes. I use the internet, of course... And since when is a backyard an amenity? ...Hn. But, Dishwasher, and washer/drier are musts.

4. What is the maximum number of other furries you are willing to live with?

2 would be the ideal number.

5. What is your opinion on smoking/drinking/pets?

I don't normally smoke and drink. I burn incense sometimes, but... yeah. I don't mind if other people do it. Pets, I love! However, because of allergies, I can't live with cats.

H u nn Y

1. Yes.
2. Burnaby, New West, Vancouver, Coquitlam.
3. 350-450ish.
4. Doesn't matter.
5. I don't care for smokers or other pets; please note though, I do myself have two female cats, I will be getting them both spayed. As well as, I do give them baths quite often so that they don't smell, and I wouldn't worry too much about them being noisy, seeing as how I know they won't leave my room due to the fact that they'd be too scared to leave my room in general. But I'm just sayin'...

Sikkab and I have been looking for a place. We would like to move sooner rather than later, so whether we would be a part of this I don't know, but I'll answer anyways.

1. Are you interested in living in a furry house?

Yes, I wouldn't be doing this if I wasn't :3

2. In what cities are you willing to live? (West/North/East/South Van, Burnaby, New West, Richmond, Coquitlam, etc.)

Richmond or Van would probably be ideal, but it doesn't really matter.

3. How much are you expecting to pay for rent?  Would you pay more for certain amenities? (backyard, skytrain, dishwasher, etc.)

We can both do about $400 each. Close to a Skytrain or bus route and with a washer/dryer would be preferred.

4. What is the maximum number of other furries you are willing to live with?

Doesn't really matter to us. Not toooo many, though.

5. What is your opinion on smoking/drinking/pets?

If the smoking is done outside and any pets are well behaved we don't mind. Drinking is fine as long as things don't get too rowdy.
