So, they have yet to port over all the other games, of course - all we get is Portal (for free until the 24th, no less - though I'm not sure if that means it'll stop working on the 24th, or if they're actually giving it away if you click and add it to your account before then?) for now..

Apparently they'll be adding new games every Wednesday, presumably starting with the other Source-engine based games (TF2, CS:Source, L4D, etc.).  Downloading it all now and will let you know how it goes. :P

Duuude, sweeeeet!! XD

I just got Portal right now! I can't wait until they have TF2! <flails her arms and swishes her tail in excitement~!> X3

I hope it stays on accounts after the 24th. ;O _O

When I first heard about this, the first immediate thought that sprang to mind was "Another scam", since I've received a number of messages from message spambots advertising their so-called "free games for Steam" deal, and Portal happened to fall upon that list.

Then I went to check the store to see if that were true, and it was, giving me a huge facepalm for not checking my sources properly after reading the Steam News.

In contrast, I'm GLaD to see that Portal is now free (until May 24th), but at the same time, I feel a bit ripped off, considering I bought The Orange Box when it first came out. It's still an awesome game to play even today, don't get me wrong. I really do love Portal. I myself have no intention of getting it for free since I already have it. xD

Enjoy the game!
I understand that scissors can beat paper, and I get how rock can beat scissors, but there's no way paper can beat rock. Paper is supposed to magically wrap around rock, leaving it immobile? Why can't paper do this to scissors? Screw scissors, why can't paper do this to people? Why aren't sheets of college ruled notebook paper constantly suffocating students as they attempt to take notes in class? I'll tell you why, because paper can't beat anybody; a rock would tear it up in two seconds. When I play Rock-Paper-Scissors, I always choose rock. Then, when somebody claims to have beaten me with their paper, I can punch them in the face with my already clenched fist, and say, "Oh sorry, I thought paper would protect you."

Portal is also a 3-year old game.

It's mainly to help ramp up the hype for Portal 2, which comes out soon.

If you didn't own portal before now, you are not a gamer.

I am a gamer, just a broke one. lol. ; _;
I am in the same position. Broke and not having a good enough computer to run it. And playing it on the 360 would make me feel so dirty inside!
I had a teacher that called me a 1940's poet because of the passion that I showed when talking about something I cared about. I take that as a comment and will always respect her.

My old roommate had the Orange Box, and I played it on his account, so eh. :p  Didn't feel like spending money for another copy of a single player game that we already had in the house.

But now I has my own! XD

I don't have a Mac, but cool, Portal for free. My Steam is messing up on me, and I should get my own Steam Account and not just use my Brothers..

So, anyone else get the Transmission Received achievement?

That damn radio is following me everywhere!! ;_;
