Fursuit events organization

I was thinking that we have enough fursuiters local to Vancouver that we could start a group identity for when we go out in public.

Something like Helping Pawz ( http://www.helpingpawz.org ), a little more lightweight in organization, but still not anyone can be in it.

This wouldn't be intended to affect fun events like bowling, but to let us do things we haven't been able to do before, like charities or animal events.

I know that Helping Pawz turns down a lot of events, so I think there is room for an alternate group and for both to be on friendly terms.

That sounds fun to me :D I don't have my fursuit yet but I will hopefully have it for June :3

I think that is an awesome Idea, I think my experience as a ProMascoter would be a great asset here.

I'v been thinking, I have a yahoo mailing list that's dead, I we can use that for this, I am planning on cleaning out the list and re-inviting every one back in i need to get ride of some dead accounts on the list, and rewrite the charter, and rename the group, but we can use that if you like.

I'm giving this a shot. I've created a board on bcfurries so we can try organizing it.

The board will only be visible to people who are given access. If you want access, Private Message me with why you'd like to join the group.

You don't need a fursuit; we need spotters as well. If you're already a member of a different fursuit charity group, you can still be approved. You do have to be willing to either perform or help out; the events this group are for aren't "furry" events. You don't need to join this group if you just want to go to "furry" events like fursuit bowling, etc.

An update on this proposed group. We created a board on this forum and restricted it to members of the group. We got our first gig this weekend, at a wildlife rescue near Langley.

We are still open to new members; Private Message me if you are interested. I can still add you to the people going this weekend, if you're interested.
