Zombers should not be put anywhere near the ferret, as a ferret is it's natural enemy, and ferrets hunt, no matter how tame they are, mice, rats, and other small rodents. Ferrets are bred and used to flush out rats and ground hogs, prairie dogs as well from their homes. I have warned Uni that any ferret he buys if it gets anywhere near the rat out of the cage, will most likely kill it. As it is still a baby, and teething, and biting things hard, it would kill the rat by accident at this age. Ferrets have very thick skin so when they play with each other, they are rough, and I mean rough. If they play with you the same way they play with each other, you are missing flesh and bleeding.

Aww, I'm about 99% certain that Creature is deaf.  She might be just really really good at ignoring me, but after noticing she was having trouble responding to cues (her favorite toy has a bell in it)  I did the vacuum test and she didn't even notice.

The only thing it really affects is it's almost impossible to wake her up, and it will be impossible for me to call her by name.

Does she have a stripe down the back of her head? about 95% of ferrets born deaf have a stripe - usually really white, down the back of their head, sometimes it can be brown or black too. It does sound like she is deaf if she doesn't hear a vacuum.

A few days ago Emcew brought over his ferret Mastermind for a play date with Creature.

Creature likes giving ferret hugs!  Mastermind was less enthusiastic about them.

They both had tons of fun chasing each other around, and I'm sure Mastermind was as sad to see her go as she was of him.

Uni you need to be very careful when other ferrets come over. Has she had ALL her shots?  Mastermind might not have any sickness or anything, but he can still carry it and because she's a baby, she is very susceptible to getting it. Please be careful! ESPECIALLY if she has not had all her shots. Make sure you get her vet checked too if you haven't already since you bought her.
