Any RTS Furs Around?

As an avid strategy gamer, I'd like to know who else shares the love of being an armchair general, and what strategy games you like to play.

As for myself, I've had a long history of RTS gaming, having played the following:

- Act of Aggression;
- Age of Empires series (AoE + Rise of Rome; AoE2 + Conquerors, Forgotten Kingdoms; AoE3 + Warchiefs);
- Age of Mythology;
- Battle for Middle-Earth 2 + Rise of the Witch-King;
- Command & Conquer series (Red Alert 2 + Yuri's Revenge, Tiberian Sun);
- Divinity: Dragon Commander;
- Empire Earth;
- Europa Universalis 4;
- Halo Wars;
- Sins of a Solar Empire + Entrenchment, Diplomacy, Rebellion;
- Starcraft series (SC1 + Brood War, SC2);
- Stellaris
- Tom Clancy's EndWar;
- Total War Series (Rome, Medieval 2, Rome 2);
- Warcraft 3 + Frozen Throne; and
- Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War + Winter Assault, Dark Crusade, Soulstorm.

I've also dabbled in the following turn-based strategy games:

- People's General
- Sid Meier's Civilization series (Alpha Centauri; Civ5 + Gods & Kings, Brave New World; Civ: Beyond Earth);
- Space Hulk Ascension; and
- XCOM (Enemy Unknown + Enemy Within; XCOM2).

I love playing some RTS games, although I am admittedly not very good at them hehe. I mainly play them for their single-player campaign stories, though I dabble from time to time in multi-player. The games I have enjoyed playing are:

Command & Conquer series & Red Alert
Zed
쥬라기 원시전 (Really neat Korean RTS. Jurassic War, or something in English)
WarCraft 2 & 3
StarCraft 1 & 2
Age of Empires
Age of Mythology

Being a huge ancient Egypt buff I love playing Age of Mythology. It's fun to sometimes treat the game like it's a city builder and make huge, cool-looking cities hehe.

I used to play the crap out of Red Alert via direct dialup to my friend's house, back before cable / DSL were a thing. ;p

You guys might be interested in a couple free cross platform / open source ones:

• 0 A.D. - Very reminiscent of Age of Empires, very frequent updates.
• OpenRA - Open Source engine that uses the C&C, Red Alert, and/or Dune datafiles - many of which have been released as freeware/abandonware by what was once Westwood Studios.  Much larger field of view, zoomable, widescreen, etc. etc.
• Wargus - Open Source engine for Warcraft II - also Stratagus, made more generic for other games (still WIP for Warcraft I, Starcraft, etc.) - this one requires the original game's datafiles, which are not freeware AFAIK.
  

And though it's not an RTS per se, in that you're not waging physical warfare, but an economic one, in the same kind of vein:

• OpenTTD - Open Source remake of Transport Tycoon Deluxe - can use the original datafiles or OpenGFX/OpenMSX/OpenSFX, with 32bpp colour support

Definitely an RTS fan here.

-Homeworld series - the original and still unmatched space-based RTS

-Total War series - Grand historical campaigns and huge battles

-Wargame series - A remarkably faithful depiction mid-to-late cold war tactical combat

-Act of Aggression - A 'traditional RTS' in the way of command and conquer

-Age of Wonders - A pretty rich and varied TBS with a fair bit of content to explore with different strategies

Plenty of others but you get the picture, I do enjoy my strategery.
