I've actually been running Call of Cthulhu v5.6 for some local friends here.  A bit stuck at the moment due to a moron player that thought it was ok to tell customs he was bringing a browning for the purpose of shooting people.  Never really found many people that play CoC actually and for anyone that has played it, the d20 version doesn't count.  Keep that away.

I used to play that a long time ago.  Waaaay back.

But basically, having dumb-ass players means they get klilled.  A lot.

What modules, if any, did you enjoy?  I'm running them through Horror on the Orient Express.  I'm actually trying to set it accurately since it is a 1920s settings, meaning anyone not a white mail is treated like crap and they can't understand that.  But yeah, going through customs one player was asked to check their bags.  He had her character say "Here's my browning machine gun"  Customs agent asked him what the hell he's thinking bringing that.  "So I can kill people"  Then he bribed her $1000.  Ugh, earlier one player summoned a dimensional shambler in public and kicked a police officer in the balls and then he complained about him getting arrested and killed.

I can't recall l what modules, if any, we played.

I Played an ex-soldier from WW1, who became a police officer, but was forced to resign because he was a heroin addict (thanks to the war).

Was looking over my handbooks and trying to find a good module to run for people.  Yes, module.  Sorry but compared to Lovecraft and Derleth, I can't compete so I use their awesome stories.  Any suggestions?  Also, considering running CoC for some online friends if I can find a way to actually watch their dice rolls.  Also prefer voice to text.

Just do all the dice rolls as the GM.  Means more work for you, but you can fudge dice a bit to keep a great story from being ruined by crappy luck.

Kardrack

I don't mind the work but players complain since they want to do rolls.  Makes them feel like they have less control.

I still want to run Call of Cthulhu for whoever want to play it.  I have a couple short adventures ready to go, but I need some help with setup.  Mainly a way to roll dice and I would like to play over skype.  People also need to know that I have no intention of using a gridmap or minis of any kind.  We don't need them and the game is better without them.  Better to let your imagination make what the horrors are like rather than to actually show you.  I don't come on here much, so try contacting me via xbox 360 at Kardrack, email at kardrack@live.com, and a note on FA at www.furaffinity.net/user/kardrack

Playing over Skype is an interesting option.  Though certainly less social than actually sittign down at someone place to play, and a lot less conductive to a good atmosphere.

I live in the Northwest of BC and this site is not just for people in the Vancouver area.  I simply CAN'T play with anyone unless it is online and no one else is willing to host a game online because they expect everyone here to live down there.  Anyways, it's online or nothing.  There is no other option here.
