I feel like Sly cooper 4 should have moved onto sly's kid instead *spoilers-ish*

So I was thinking about the sly cooper 4 game and I reflected that the original trilogy really had a satisfying ending to the gang's thieving career and that they should have retired. It made sense that Sly's life being in danger made him want to settle down with Carmilita along with his gang going onto greater things. It feels like 4 was forced to write out of the corner they put themselves in. Penelope turning evil just sounds really silly

So here's what I think would have been better. Sly cooper had a kid and we'd instead focus on the kid's adventure, we could even have the time stuff be his training and learning about his heritage. The kid learns the family's great thieving skills by being there with his ancestors and learning the skills to become a great thief himself. That way, we'd establish a new bunch of characters for the series to move on with rather then feeling like we're bringing someone out of their tight knit retirement to go back to what they retired from.

Very unlikely there'd be a final game to wrap up this iteration of the canon considering the movie is a complete reboot of the series that Sony's pushing.

There's a hidden ending if you 100% everything including trophies. It was revealed in the game's files early on.

I think it's fine the way that it is, but your theory is interesting. Would be funny if he did have a kid, and then his kid started to get into trouble and Sly would try to stop him... and probably get back into the thieving business again. XD Poor Carmelita.

I as much as everyone who's played it want this iteration of the canon to be wrapped up nicely in a bow. If Sony's delaying the movie, there still might be that chance and Sanzaru could make one albeit rushed to a 1 year deadline.

But considering the movie is coming out sometime next year, the series might just end on that for this generation.

Always felt like it was the Jak and Daxter series that was left open ended (and could really use a sequel to explain all that mark stuff)

And it was the Sly cooper series that was wrapped nicely in three games.

What series would you guys like continued?

Both Sly and Ratchet are getting generational complete reboots. Jak got taken aside and Naughty Dog abandoned the IP. (The PSP game was BAD)

Did not care for inFamous or Uncharted. Ratchet also became oversaturated with games that it lost it's touch with the player. I much prefer anthros based on real animals rather than crazy hybrids.
