I shall note that this is an older thread, but i used to do fencing, and kendo .-. i do not have any western style swords, but i do own two bokken, and plan on shaping some wood into a more western style shape so i can still practice

Bokken sound like fun. I'd be interested in practicing if you want to meet up sometime.

I don't have one though :( Are the Bokken wood or plastic? I'd feel bad about denting up a wooden one. My weapon of choice is a metal rod, so I'm sure I'd be able to find something rigid and soft enough as substitute.

I've got a bamboo baseball bat. Wouldn't mind sparring with that ;)
Don' worry, I'm usually a feather touch.
In high school we had rules of no excessive hitting of joints, spine, and face. We played with light sticks though. Still broke skin (mostly on the hands/knuckles). Very casual though, lots of fun.

I'd like to practice Def with a blunt object, I can work with a lighter material though (but as I said, I'm a feather touch, I work for suppression and trying to get you into a position I can control you, without hurting you.[superhero complex, eh?])

If you want to take me on and all I have is a towel. BRING IT! I love the challenge!

my household has way to many training weapons xd.
I've had a few years of kendou and the roommate is kinda a jack of trades with no professional teaching. We don't spar nearly as often as we should due to it being just to bloody hot.
