I find the fascination with age to be one of the stranger aspects of the human psyche.

Shouldn't we measure life in terms of experience and accomplishment rather than how long you've been taking up space?

Also, 27.
Contrary to popular belief, popular belief is not an opinion.

Experience and accomplishment aren't abstract.   It's easy to measure what things you've done over the course of your life and which ones you saw as accomplishments.

yes but this dosent give a good scope of how close to death one is. It's abstract in the ideal that acomplishments arent as solid a consept as time is, time is a measurement of change. meanwhile acomplishments are really not a measurement at all... how do you measure acomplishments, is one acomplishment larger then another, should one wright all their lifelong acomplishments down so as to list them off when one asks their age, i for one dont rember everything iv ever acomplished in my life off the top of my head its just silly :P age in time spent alive is a much more solid measurement <3 thats why we use it, plus if you dont acomplish anything ever your not gonna live any longer *nods*

It's my opinion that if you haven't accomplished anything, you haven't lived at all.

perhaps but your still alive, it may be a waisted life but its a life gone by none the less. And id say that exsperiances are much better then acomplishments. I care alot more about the memories i have from travleing with my parents to far away places many times in my youth, then the times iv won awards or actualy completed something. But that could just be the kind of person i am.

Age is merely age. Some mistakedly use age to judge maturity and wizdom. Sometimes they give you a pretty good idea, but at the same time, some people had to grow up the hard way, or were sheltered... And in those cases, it's a special case.

So we could always ask, how wise are you?

I would answer with, I've seen many a place, and I've heard many a music, but I have yet to leave home and hear it without it having to be recorded first.  (Just an example, not a reflection of my true self.)
