So I've been trying to figure this anthro thing out. I got some online friends who have been helping me thankfully, but I feel more opinions and help would be very beneficial to my future art!

That's something I did in May.

This is something I did a month later.

My friends advised me to not draw such stiff poses and do narrower eyes, I also heard the tail was off.

So I'd love for you guys to give me some tips/advice!!

I just got a Wacom Intuos CTH480 so I'd like to learn digital as well. I got Tool Sai so ya'll know.

Anthro characters are a combination of humans and animals, thus the best advice would probably be to practice and study both of these as well as basics of drawing.

These are ok, they just lack practice, the basic idea and concepts are there but the motion and feel is missing. This is why the character looks stiff instead of natural. Just study and practice, learn about anatomy and the break down of shapes. Draw people as they are around you. This will really help make you poses feel natural. You can also practice gesture drawings.

Just do it.

At times, your mistakes are your best inspiration.

Learn anatomy, for both humans and the animal. Just never go "I draw anime/manga, I don't need to learn anatomy" and then they promptly only draw bad anime-ish fan art esque art where they just go "It's the style" for the bad anatomy. I've actually come across this.

It's one thing to make mistakes (we all do it) and learn what you did wrong (when it comes to anatomy, its a bitch) and another to ignore anatomy.
