Went to the Gym today!

Okay... so... I did 30 minutes of reclined bicycle at "fatburn" and "cardio" mode. Went 5.65 km. And did 45 minutes of "Bodyflow". It's a mix of all sorts of things like yoga, Pilates, tai chi, balance exercises and other things. We had to leave early because I had to go to the doctor's.

Bodyflow is amazing. I work out at goodlife and any of their programs are free to go to. Body combat, Zumba, there are like, almost 2 dozen to pick from. It's amazing and feels great. My core is rock hard right now. My ass is fuckin hard and feels awesome. My legs are JELLY. Gonna take a nice hot bath to get my body relaxed so I don't cramp up.

I feel great! I seriously recommend people do that stuff. I work out at the goodlife in Abby and you can get a 3 day free pass and some places like Pita Pit actually have 7 day passes you can fill out. You get access to anything in the gym. I would love more gym buddies so I can go every day I am fit enough to. So far I am getting back into going, and it's been every other day. This weekend I will have to skip because I'm going to a certain dragon's birthday party :3 Gonna be awesome.

Cardio burns fat. One of the BEST methods is the row-machine. Or Sprint-rowing. Eating lots of celery and broccoli.

Interval training -- that is, alternating bursts of intense activity with bursts of lighter activity -- is a good way to burn more fat. Walk for five minutes, then jog for five repeat. That strategy will burn overall more calories and more fat. If you are already jogging, jog then sprint to mix it up.

Increasing intensity for a short period within your regular workout will burn more total calories and therefore more fat.

Although a lot of people think a thousand sit-ups or crunches a day will get rid of the flab, that's not entirely true. Sit-ups aren't going to get rid of your abdominal fat, per se, Sit-ups strengthen the abdominal musculature. So that means with enough sit-ups your tummy should have a better appearance. But may still have lots of fat.

STOP EATING DAIRY (with some exceptions)! This goes for ANYONE. Dairy is FAT. That's all it is. "Low fat Dairy" is still FAT. Yogurts are one of the only recommended to continue to consume while exercising. But Low fat as well. In fact there are some that suggest having THREE servings a day, at different times (not all at once), will help reduce fat faster than eating little to none. However this study was done for OBESE people. It doesn't seem to effect those that are in the "overweight" to "regular" ranges. Remember there are serving suggestions on containers. That's a serving. Not dish it out and eat whatever. You need to follow the serving suggestions! Another fact I learned: people should stop eating dairy around the age of puberty as that is when fat gets packed on. It was harder back 30 years ago to not have dairy because other things were not available as a replacement OR were disgusting. There are many other drinks out there that can help and have more calcium and move vitamins, and far less fat than Dairy. Be aware of GOOD fats vs BAD. Nuts and legumes have tonnes of good fats and full of protein. More than you would think. You NEED fat in order to break down and absorb protein. There is no way around it. And you need protein to repair your muscles when working out and to build new ones.

Whole grains, lean protein (Soy is a really good one. Or chicken/poultry), plenty of fruits and vegetables, and eight glasses (CUPS) of water daily. No one ever tells you the measurements of water "needed" per day. When I say "needed", you don't actually need that much. Your body knows when it's dehydrated most of the time, so it will tell you when you're thirsty. Such as a dry mouth, or fatigue. Two liters are what some would say you drink a day. That's a lot of water. When you work out a lot, you can drink far more water. But you CAN over hydrate and people have died from that. As well as dehydration of course. So keep an eye on your water levels. There are ways to see if you're dehydrated too like pinching your skin.

If you eat one meal a day, and it's big, STOP. Split it up during the day to three to five small meals. It will make your energy level spread out and you're not going to feel tired from over eating in one go. And don't give yourself, or others "I'm to busy" crap excuses. Make a sandwich/meal(s), the day before and stick them in the fridge. You can make time, everyone can. Or get help! Ask someone else to make it for you if you have little time (family, loved ones, even friends might help).

**REMEMBER**
Men lose fat and gain muscle differently than women. According to all of my research, it's easier for women to lose fat. They even can do fewer reps than men when working out.

Here are some sites that might help and can give you hints and what not. REMEMBER this as well - You don't need all the equipment they show. You can substitute it. Like dumb bells can be substituted with weighed down fabric grocery bags. Etc.

I am not sure if these work 100% but give it a try!

There are many sites that can help. I actually like the gym better because they will tell you exactly what you want...

Keep in mind!!!!!

Those that are already thin, but say have one thing that's fatter than others like a belly, or arms, or moobs or whatever - fat is not area-selective when you burn it. You can work your stomach, or whatever part has all the fat, and it might not come off and instead it will take fat from somewhere else. This is generally because you are doing the WRONG exercise. So keep that in mind. Doing lots of crunches will get your abs in shape, but not really burn belly fat. The fat you burn will be in your ass, thighs, back and arms.

I personally recommend home-made smoothies. They are energy increasing and REALLY delicious. I have some of my own recipes and if anyone wants me to share them I can. They are low-fat, and even can be super chocolaty for those cravers ;) And you can even come over to my place to try some if you want I will be more than happy to share! (Just bring your own fruit is all I ask.)

I hope that helps you Fuzzum! And anyone else reading!

Thanks Star for the thorough post. Left little for me to add, haha. Either way that there is a wealth of info to go off on.

Here's just a few tips I can think of off the top of my head:

More meals per day with less portions increases metabolism which in turn increases calorie burn.

Proper diet has a bigger impact on weight loss than physical activity.

Carbs are most important before and after work out.

Never skip breakfast.

Muscle cells require more energy than fat cells, so muscle training will help burn calories in a way.

I can think of more, but not tonight.

Also!!!!

VERY IMPORTANT!!!

Eat a SMALL snack BEFORE you go to sleep. This will keep your metabolism going. A piece of jam and toast, an apple, something light and small. Yogurt is another good one!

3-10 hour straight days of work, walking lifting 55lbs+ all day long. WCB would hate me ^.^

Aeturnus

I receive a decent workout at work. I load and unload containers for about six to eight hours a day, and the boxes can weigh anywhere between twenty to a hundred pounds. If you want a good workout, get a job doing what I do.

So here's something I have been doing! It's been great! I have been playing minecraft, and working on some hand paws for a suit partial piece. And when I am doing either, or both at the same time, I use my thigh resistant exerciser! It's easier to use when playing a video game though. As when I am farming mobs, and waiting, in between slaying Zombies, I am doing all sorts of exercises with my thigh exerciser and my resistance cords. I never thought it would be easy to just idly exercise. But it works. I'm quite enjoying it! Give it a try if you can! I also use my dumbbells for the same thing.  :-3
