We've been doing our best to clepto all of the furs and steal them from north island and relocate them to Vic. It's part of our FEMA (Furry Evacuation to Metropolitan Areas) plan.

Seriously though, I realize how harsh it can be in a smaller populated area, and the Courtney/Comox area seems to be (so I'm told) the historically difficult area for VIFurs. Things get going then die off and never revive.

We'd welcome you to come down if that's an affordable or logistical option, or meet us all at howl or VF....either way, pack your bags and prepare for strategic evacuation and relocation, we're coming...all your furs are belong to us.

The furbashing (literally) rednecks that live 20 km from Courtenay/ comox, the lack of transportation ( a bus to nanaimo and back will set you back 100$), the fact that nearly no one here is friendly (I've walked from comox through Courtenay to black creek and never been picked up looking clean cut hitchhiking) and panhandling for homeless people ... Yah right. No one would spare a dime to save your life. This place is a retirement community and a tourist attraction.

I could go on all day but, I have to go try not to think about what I said and go back to pretending the natural beauty of this area would keep me here given the option to leave.

Gosh, does the bus cost so much? It's too far to go for me to catch a bus to go anywhere, anyway, but I figured it would be pretty cheap at least :P

Oh Kyroo, you are gonna need to muster all the furry power you can find if we wish to overcome the oppression of this grey haired utopia. Perhaps we should invade comox, first we need a wave of people to drive by and throw coupons out of their windows... Then the second wave of furs comes by armed with tranquilizer guns and get the old people while they are picking up the coupons!

Hahah but on a serious note, if things could be arranged between you guys up there, you could always car pool and pitch in for gas and drive down together for monthly meets or such? It would save you all a good bit of money and perhaps some transport headaches?

Well, to be honest, I  didn't really mean anything negative about the area...Rather that it's difficult to get things going, and its so far away its a logistical nightmare to get large groups to travel up there. Having never been to Comox/Courtenay, I wouldn't even try to assume I know the first thing about the population there.

I've heard of the pride parade fiasco, that's frankly more than enough to keep my big gay ass out of dodge, let alone introducing furry to an already so hospitable and accepting lot of circa 1940's conservative valued folk.

Thanks, but I'll take the hipsters from Vic...their music is bad, and the coffee is worse, but even the straightest hipster here has more fashion sense than me, so if there is some sudden mass shift in morals overnight, at least i can go with  peace knowing i'll be lynched with a very fabulous rope!  ;D
