Hi,

The tenant living in my house's basement is moving out this weekend, and the suite will be available for someone to move in by October 1st.  The suite is normally a 1 bedroom suite that rents for $750, however the house is undergoing renovations and the bedroom is currently torn apart.  So for the time being, I am renting it is a bachelor suite at $600/mo, and when the bedroom is finished rent will go back to the regular rate.  The bedroom isn't planned to be done for about a year.

The house is located in Sapperton, a 10-min walk from the Skytrain station, Safeway, Save-On Foods and other shops.  The back yard has an apple tree that produces tons of fruit you can help yourself to, and it is mostly fenced.  There is a driveway parking spot available.  Pets are generally ok but need to be discussed first.  There is laundry on site.  NS/ND.

If you have questions or would like to see it, please reply here, or e-mail me at shadowkeeper.dragon@gmail.com.

Hi All,

After the previous tenant moved out and I had a chance to look around in the suite, the suite was not in as great of condition as I had anticipated and will need some work.  I can't do the work right now.  But I decided I'm willing to rent it out to someone who needs a cheap place to stay.  You'll probably need to clean it.  There may be minor repairs needed which I can do.  There is enough furnishings that you can probably just get a mattress and be good to go.  It is a full suite with a private bathroom and kitchen of course.

If anyone is interested in taking a look, let me know.

How do you intend to raise rent by 32% when the maximum annual rent increase amount is 2.5%?  http://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/topic.page?id=539D67CD1FE548B58B3732CFC299C406

Are you planning to forcibly evict whomever lives there to raise rent once the renovations are done?

There are several options and considerations for how to go about that depending on your situation and how things look when the time to renovate the suite comes.  If you're interested in moving in, then we can discuss it.

Please note that the rental suite will not be renovated at the same time as someone is living in it.

Thanks,
