I am now an owner of a Wacom Intuos 5 Medium I've been wanting one of these for quite a long time that I got on monday

as much as I am happy I am running into a driver issue with it that hopefully someone can help me solve

everytime I open up art program I get an error on my screen that the pen driver has crashed causing the pressure to not work at all that is no good to me since that is one of the reasons why I got the tablet was for the 2040 levels of pressure in the pen

if anyone has some suggestions that can help me solve this issue for good I would be most grateful

I really dont want to discredit the brand new tablet that I haven't even had for long for just a driver issue but after paying 415$ after tax one would expect to not have these sorts of issues with it

Temrin

check out these forums http://sai.detstwo.com/forum/
And search for the issue you are having. : )

Thanks Temrin

the advise didn't help that much as I am facing the same issue on all other art programs I've tried

My windows is currently on service pack 2 where the tablet does say it's supported for 3 so I may quickly do a fresh partition and upgrade it to 3 and see if that is the issue

Update - in the process of putting on a fresh partition on my computer it now has become unusable. The keyboard and mouse doesn't work preventing me to do anything. The gig I was working is a temporary thing so unfortunately I can't do anything money wise about replacing the computer right away.

Really wish I could update it to something more recent as it is an XP machine back when that OS was considered "new" it is the next thing I wanted to do and finnally get something a little more recent

It could of just been the driver for the tablet. did you go to wacoms site and actually install their driver or just plug in and go? (plug in a go doesnt always work. sometimes you have to re-install the drivers and such.)

I hope things start working again for you D:

Is it a PC? Go find an old PS/2 (PS = personal workstation, IBM's thing) mouse and keyboard (or a USB->PS/2 adapter, cheap and usually included with computers)

It's just that USB mouses and keyboads are just a convenience, not all drivers are set up to use them as inputs right away. My current PC is suffering this issue after a driver malfunction.

Might help ...

As for your first problem, try finding the Visual C++ runtime update from Microsoft - It's a library of programming that allows many programs that use it to work - yours could be old! If not, then it may require whatever SP3 provides... but I am certain you can look around the mentioned forums for people using it on SP2 somehow.

I have one of those already and yes I assure you it is a PC a Compaq Presario 6000 to be presice. I know it's old but has served me for the essential things I need on a computer though I would certainly love to someday update it so I could do more game and stuff (best it can do is Diablo 2 and Starcraft)

Ill check that out tiger and get the latest update and see if that is what is causing the error from the site Temein provided it appears that Sai doesn't like the pressure from Wacom tablets and quite afew people from what I see were running into problems

Temrin - Originally I installed right from disk then tried again with the latest driver from Wacom and still got the same results before I posted here

Choco

Update - after updating my pc and Visual C + + that seems to have solved the problem the error no longer is coming up so yay

I can Commence much needed Draw Time  :-3

Thank you guys soo much for your help it means alot to me
