Pot smells very strongly a bad way. It's like ripping a giant fart to get high.
If you're smoking anything that smells like farts, I think who ever gave it to you is trolling you :P

just taking a glimpse of your account says you like mind altering drugs
mushrooms also taste like crap but they're fun

Interesting fact: shrooms taste worse and worse the more you do them because your body associates them with being poisoned.

which is why people often mix then with dark chocolate to mask the taste, especially people who use them for medical purposes who dislike the psychotropic effects, they can be used to treat cluster headaches

Ok.. it is seriously hard to not be offended when anyone says that pot is illegal. It is NOT for some. Like me. I am licence carrying. Stop discriminating please. Stop aiding the propaganda as well.

I feel very strongly about this. Any card carrying furry should be able to discuss these things here to show the whole community that it is not a nasty drug but a herb that heals. A herb that cures.

We can and should take the chance to educate the younger furries the facts about this amazing plant. Not hid it. Not shame it, and certainly not discriminate the people who use it.

I know there are adult furries here in bc that are HUGE advocates for it and to single em out it once again punishing a group of people who are in fact not harming anyone.

There is a huge movement about educating the masses about the fact that pot is NOT a dangerous herb in any sense. Not a SINGLE death has ever come out of the use of the plant. Not ONE report.

while we already know the very large amount of drinkers in our community and  drinking is 100% more harmful.

I implore the admins to see that we need less discrimination on here on this topic. I get it.. you dont want a minor doing something they shouldn't do without a piece of paper like mine saying its ok... but ... it is not illegal for over 60,000 people in bc alone.

If the admin wants to shield the youth from facts I find it very unhelpful to the community.

not talking about drugs will not stop anyone at any age from trying it if they want. Educate... don't discriminate.

I am happy to see this is still up though. instead of being silenced. I wonder how long it will last. I can only be hopeful of the admins to see the logic in what I'm saying.

Meanwhile anyone with a doctor's note can go to the MANY dispensaries in Vancouver to not only get the herb but to get the real facts about it and why the government doesn't want it around.

Oh .. i wonder now if it will be shut down now.. now that I've said where you can get it.

Sorry if you've gone over this previously, or if you don't want to discuss it, but what qualified you for the card?  (what is the medical basis?)
"God does not play dice with the universe; He plays an ineffable game of his own devising, which might be compared, from the perspective of any of the other players, to being involved in an obscure and complex version of poker in a pitch dark room, with blank cards, for infinite stakes, with a dealer who won't tell you the rules, and who smiles all the time."   - Terry Pratchett

While I do appreciate the list, I guess I should have been a bit more clear. I meant, specifically, what does velvet have the card for.....  Unless they have ALL of those in which case OMG yer life sucks.

I fully agree. As another person with medical access I would like to be able to discuss something I have a great deal of interest in with others in the community who share my interests. However given the negative mindset of some of the forum patrons I have been reluctant to say anything on the subject. However I had to speak up to express my support for what Velvet has to say.

""to not be offended when anyone says that pot is illegal. It is NOT for some. Like me. I am licence carrying.""  i must ask this question - by license do you mean one issued by the FEDERAL government, or by the prescription given to you and the ID card that was issued to you by the 'dispensary' you go to?

something should be made very clear here.  just because you have gone to your doctor and gotten a 'prescription' that allows you to go to a 'cannabis club' aka 'dispensary', DOES NOT  make it legal for you, nor is that card a 'license'.  if you have a FEDERAL exemption card then it is legal for you.  with a federal card you can smoke marijuana anywhere you can smoke tobacco.  with the card you get by going to your doctor, you are still subject to arrest but most police officers will not bother with you, or at worse they will take what you have away and tell you to have a good day.

there is nobody here discriminating against users.  the discussion of the use, benefits, legalization, decriminalization are all fine topics to discuss in this thread or other places in this forum.  the owner of the site does not want the actual discussion to promote the use of marijuana.  we can say that smoking marijuana helps with the appetite but not say marijuana helps me with my appetite.  we can say that eating pot brownies helps with pain but we cannot say i have a bunch of pot brownies to share.

the request of one furry saying something like - "my supplier got busted and i need to find a new one" is not permitted, and neither is saying - "i have some i can let you buy / have", or "i can hook you up with my supplier".  it is not difficult to realize who the active users are by reading the comments in the thread.  it is also not difficult to contact one of them by a private message.

all that is asked in this thread is to choose your words carefully.  think about it as a discussion about marijuana's pros and cons among your friends with your grandmother in the room.  you wouldn't say, let's go to my room and blaze but you might say i am going out for a walk.  your friends will know what you are going to do on that walk but granny will just think you are getting fresh air and exercise.

please respect the wishes of the website owner and since it is his site they are his rules.  is that too much to ask?  i think he has been very tolerant of some comments that have been posted in this thread so i thank him for letting this thread stay up.

It's still illegal for most people, and I don't think the admins have either the time or the ability to determine who can and who can't talk about it based on whether or not it's legal for a particular person. It wouldn't be reasonable to ask them to do so.

Besides which, it's not as though anyone's being told they can't talk about it at all - the thread's still open, right? The problem is when it moves from general discussion to showing intent to do something which is, for most people, illegal.

Describing it as discrimination or talking about "aiding the propaganda" misses the point. It's not about opinions, it's about the law as it applies to the vast majority of British Columbians and, I'll wager, most of the people in this thread as well.

although this is a good start of the permitted reasons to obtaining a medical card from a doctor and not the federal exemption, there are some doctors out there that if you just walk in and say i want to be able to buy medical pot they will sign away.  and before you ask - i do not know where one is located.

Thanks Tokar.  I do know all this, though I hope it will help out someone else.  I was just being curious as to why, specifically, one person in particular has their card... lol

you require a doctor to fill out an alternative medicine application in order to get the medical marijuana license, the doctor doesn't even need to support it, they only have to acknowledge that you personally feel it will help, and health Canada determines whether you qualify based on your medical records, considering it's more or less partially decriminalized for personal use here, and you can't be charged for possession of anything under 1 oz. and all the cops can do is seize/destroy it and any used paraphernalia possessed at the time, all the medicinal marijuana license is for is to allow you to legally possess without legal repercussion and to buy from health canada/dispensaries and to be able to apply for a growers license
