now you know not to take me so seriously.  talk to me sometime, or watch me when outside while others are smoking and you will see that i am not such a jerk.  last night i had the guy across from me, and others across the aisle, laughing quite a bit.  try as hard as you can, you cannot help but crack a smile around me.  i will make you laugh.

Maybe you're cool in person, I don't really know cause I haven't really talked to you, but on the forums the way you talk is kind of harsh, I'm not going to tell you what to do, but I am letting you know that you are coming off negatively.

Generally it's a good thing to leave sarcasm off of the internet since you cannot hear the person speaking and it then will only cause conflict. XD The only time you should use sarcasm is if it's VERY obvious and only an idiot wouldn't catch it. :P

I avoid it because even in real life people sometimes won't catch my sarcasm and they'll take me seriously. XD It always gives me some good laughs, but that's why I rarely use it on the web.

if someone wants to start a "humorous thread then maybe they should say so at the beginning or in the second post they make in the thread.  going by the quotes, there is nothing to indicate that his was a humorous thread therefore my response was in line with the question which i imagined was meant to be .... "what am i to do when FA dies", or "what to do when FA dies."

i suggest that you all re-read the replies posted here and seriously think, is there really any indication that this is a humorous thread.  NO.  the comments form all are suggestions of things to do other than sit in front of a computer or comments that FA is not the be all to end all nor is it the only site to visit.  so what makes my suggestions vindictive? 

if i was to come on and say something like .. get off your fat ass and get out of the house, exercise, get a job, or similar, that would seem a little vindictive to me, but not suggestions as the first post implied was wanted.

make yourself clear as to what you want.  if you order a cheeseburger and you do not want onions or pickle on it then you should say so when ordering so that you do not get the onions or pickle.  similarly if you want a humorous response  start off being humorous.  Seriously, It's been two whole days.
I don't know what to do with myself.  FIRST word was " seriously".  does that imply humour or invite sarcasm.  my initial response was to say after reading .... "I don't know what to do with myself." was to say ... go play with yourself.  but since he sounded serious .....

Tokar, (and all the above posters calling him out) you may read things one way, while another person reads things differently. This is what the people above were trying to explain.

Quite humorous -because- of the history FA has and how everyone complains about it when its down. I found it humorous because to me, that was making fun of the people who seem to act and feel that they have no life outside of FA.

To you it may have been serious, to me it was funny.

Everyone using the internet needs to understand that things will be read different.

Both sides arguing here need to just chill. Agree to disagree. It was a misunderstanding so just calm down. Its -really- not that big of a deal.

You all are over reacting. Flourette (and others), i found Tokars post to be helpful. He even edited it for people who are younger if they cant think of something to do. I didnt find what he said sarcastic or vindictive at ALL. And its also not something to do, calling someone out about their post publicly, without noting them and getting clarification on it first. You honestly just all made yourselfs look like jerks. (Both sides!) So next time, take it to notes before calling someone out on false pretenses. -.-'

thank you temrin for your incite.  although i am registered on FA (had to in order to get past the home page) i do not use it.  i am unaware of it foibles keeping up and running.  so because of that i was ignorant in the side door humour intended by the author.
so if i came across as a jerk i apologize. granted i am a jerk but i try not to come across as one.

Its a free site that has a record of problems. Just let it be. -shrugs-
