Hello,

Most of you know me, or know of the Doghouse.

I am announcing the end, I am disbanding the "Doghouse Crew."

Not on bad terms mind you, we're just growing up and going our separate ways in life.

But before we get into that, a back story for you...

A Fur from New Zealand, Ruggz and I started "The Doghouse" in 2009 with the idea of getting furs out of their parents basements and into real life...also...Partying.

At first, it was just the upper floor of a dilapidated ex grow op house in the Whalley area of Surrey. We invited Sairys to move into our spare bedroom.

Ruggs and I started with nothing, he had what belongings he had stuffed into two dufflebags for the flight, and I had just moved from the Island and come out of a very messy relationship, costing me most of my belongings and money (almost $30,000).  Long story short, we had a couch, an Xbox and an old LCD Projector.

We ate Kraft Dinner out of dollar store Dog Bowls, using wrenches as forks (we were both Mechanics at the time).

A short while later, the East Indians living in the lower floor moved out and I took control of the entire house. I then opened applications for the rooms, (6) and moved in Jack Snake, Lemony Fox, Orion Barkley and Jessie T. Wolf (who ended up becoming my Mate). Later, Orion would marry Hazel (U.S.) and get their own place. This is where Ember Fox came in, and things got interesting!

Many insane parties ensued and The Doghouse got the reputation of a furry frat house.

After almost a year, the landlord put the house up for sale, and we were so pissed off that every time they tried to show it, we made sure there was furry porn on the walls and Fursuits in plain sight. LOL

After a while, I decided to move the house, and with Jessie's insistence, end the frat house reputation we had, as she was sick of cleaning up after us and that fact that furs would "Drop By" at all hours of the day or night, regardless of whether we were there or not!

So, we moved to Guildford, into a nice large house that more suited our needs. The parties became invite only and got a bit more manageable.  The moving out party involved someone putting their head through a wall - also an American puked all over Ruggz couch and most of the hallway (he had long hair and was dubbed "Puking Jesus").

When we moved here, I decided to end the random "drop by's" by keeping the location of the new house a secret, with only a select few who knew of its exact location.

Ruggz got a job offer in New Zealand he couldn't refuse, and subsequently moved back. Haloth then joined the Ranks of the Doghouse as the first non-canine (he's a Horse).

He later got his own place, some room shuffling went on and Frio Husky & Sikkab Wolf moved in.

Lemony moved out and got his own house in Whiterock, with Keytone and Gritz.

Almost 3 years after moving the house, we've all grown up and most of us have respectable jobs. I sell cars for Ford, Jessie is a professional dog trainer, Ember is a Translink Tech, Frio is a Metal Fabricator, Sairys is trying to get a job at YVR, and Jack is enlisted in the Canadian Army.

Again, our Landlord has decided to sell the house, so Jessie, Jack and I will be moving to a new Doghouse in Maple Ridge (yea, I'm keeping the name, too bad!).

Ember is moving to North Vancouver, Sikkab, Frio and Sairys are moving to Richmond I think. LOL

I am Proud to have started and maintained The Doghouse through the good and the bad, and am honored to call crew family.

...So, what does it all boil down to?

Well, I'm opening the doors for a final "End of the Surrey Doghouse" Party. For the first time in years, I will host an open invite party on July 28th. There will be no furniture, no belongings, just us, a big ass sound system and some dance lighting. Think of it kinda like Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, I will allow anyone to come, as long as they behave themselves and do not damage the house (again). I am going to try and keep it beer only, so furs don't get too out of hand. ;)

Time will be announced soon, as will the address.

Sorry for the long story, but I had to say something. I'm feeling a bit sentimental ;)

Here are some pics of the Past and Present Doghouse Crew! ;)

It's always sad when people grow up.  :'(

I didn't get to know you guys as well as I would have liked but I wish you all the best at your new place(s).

I have a $210 date in Vancouver that evening, but I'll see about stopping by later if there's time to say my goodbyes proper.  :)

This sounds like it's kind of a big deal.

I am really looking forward to seeing you all again :3
Its been a while since i've been to the place. I hope it will be a good fun night and i'm definitely sad to see the doghouse crew all breaking up and going separate ways. Life goes on i guess! I wish you all lots of luck in your lives and for the future!

Gunna miss you guys! But at least there is twitter! :D
See you guys soon!

Vanilla Skunk

I remember taking that picture of Torwin and Jessie... having to lean the camera up against the projector's stand just to get rid of the blur because my hands were shakey. XD

I missed the old doghouse.  It was a nice place to visit and be yourself, until people started abusing it.

I just wanted to say, thanks for letting me be a part of this...  and also, thanks for letting me be the homeless guy on the couch for some time.  I don't know what I would have done if you hadn't extended your kindness.  The offer is still open if there's anything I can do in return.

Aphinity

Some very good times for some very good people in those houses.  I think I'll be cancelling a trip to visit a friend from Philly in favour of this party!  Well, ok.. he may kill me if I did that, but maybe I can reschedule.  :)
