Writers' Meetup

Hello furry writers,

Any of you in the lower mainland interested in grabbing a laptop and sitting in a coffee shop for a while to sit and write?  If there's enough of you I wouldn't mind organizing a meetup sometime on a quiet night.

Keep telling myself I want to write stuff but end up hitting the lazy wall the moment I sit down in front of the computer. :(

I'll put myself on the record as interested, just need to get portable electronic writing tools sorted out since my laptop borked. =P

I'll wait until Tony has his laptop situation worked out, then I'll organize a meetup.
I tried doing a little writing in a coffee shop on Friday, and concluded it wasn't really a great place for it despite the stereotype.
Going to check out some transit-accessible public libraries.

Hey, this sounds like a great idea and I would love to do it, but I don't have a laptop =/ I have an iphone but I don't really like writing too much on that heh

I'm on call this week, however I will enquire for a room at the local public library for next week, if you guys don't mind coming all the way to Lougheed.

Lougheed is not far from me, so that's no problem. Hopefully you can get something on a day I'm available -- which next week would be just Tuesday if you go with evenings.

I don't know if you've ever heard of NaNoWriMo, but a group that spawned off of it known as The Other Eleven months has writing meetups around the lower mainland almost daily at coffee shops. They're not furries, but a lot of the people are really nice and furry friendly. I'd suggest coming out to the monday write ins, 6 pm at waves on columbia st in new west (a minute or two walk from the new west skytrain). Additionally I believe there's meetings on wednesdays at UBC (can't verify this though), and we often hold a Saturday afternoon meet @ 3PM in North Delta (though it won't happen next week).

I'd suggest looking up the group on facebook for more info. You can also just show up, but joining the FB group will tell you when the meets are and whether they're cancelled or what-have-you.

That sounds awesome!  Also maybe we should set up regular times for a writers meet if we still want to start our own and locations :3

Still working on this guys, recently returned from Campfire Tails.  I'd like to arrange something for next Tuesday, but I need to check out a few venues first.  Might hold it in the clubroom in my apartments as it's nice and quiet.  I'll keep you posted!
