Have you ever been Jealous of someones Character?

I happen to suffer from a horrible problem of being indecisive.  I've techincally had one fursona for about 10 years, but have kind of switched or changed to a new one recently.  That.. and I have a few other characters I really like.

Either way, I can't recall if I've ever had this feeling before but there's one persons character I really like i've been watching their art lately, and the more I watch it, the more I like it.  Kind of an odd admiration for their character, and then I turn to look at mine and feel somewhat lacking.  I feel I should have a stronger bond with my own character but I don't quite feel it.

Just curious if other people have had this before.

I have felt jealous of peoples characters in the past.

I have based characters of mine off of characters that I fawned over.

The best example I can give is Frysco's character Tseatah. When I joined the fandom I fell in love with the character/fursuit. Tseatah is the reason that my tiger is a sabertooth tiger!!(tseatah is not a tiger)

Drake Wingfire

I can admit I have seen some very WELL designed characters out there, really unique and creative and I admire that kind of imagination because I honestly wish I was that creative myself. But by that same token, a nice made character does not make for  an automatic jump into the "cool person" books. I have known people with the most generic characters ever but I think highly of them because they are just plain awesome people with lots of personality that extends past their fursona/identity, I have also seen people who desperately try and make their character unique by way of a lot of cheesy features or some token "he/she is royalty/ a fighter/ master of magic" back story and it comes across as desperate for attention and undermines the person as a whole because it becomes this sorta e-ego to compensate for lacking personality.

My dragon self name wise wasn't the most unique name I will admit hahaha. Drake is a super token dragon name and Wingfire is just a play on the look of myself. I came up with the name when I was 13 soooo... the evidence speaks for itself. My look isn't anything special by any means, in fact for a dragon its very bread and butter. Just a standard western dragon with some interesting spike and plating setups and an assortment of colors. But I have had the identity and the name for so long that its just kinda grown along with me over the years and most people who know me just couldn't see me any other way because of it. This name and this look are simply stuck with me hahaha.

Honestly, I pay very little attention to characters so its never come up.

I mean, I know there are 'big names' in the fandom but at the end of the day I pay very little attention to fursonas. I focus on the individual, not their character.

The only thing I get jealous about is markings. I like my species I have chosen because it defines me. But sometimes I wish I had better markings all over instead of the simple ones I currently have.
