Trip for the Summer!

Hey guys,

I'm moving to Victoria from Ottawa for the summer and figured I'd post up on here. Obviously, I don't really know anyone in Victoria having never been there so I saw this as a way to meet some people to hang out with for the summer. I'll be heading out there on May 1st and will be around until the last week of August. I'm moving out there for a job for the summer before I return to Ottawa to attend the Teaching Program at the University of Ottawa.

As I said, I'm from Ottawa and have lived here my whole life. I'm a co-admin on the local furry forum (Capital Furs) and have been in the fandom for about 7 years now. I'm a recent graduate of the University of Ottawa's Honours Psych. program (with a minor in Classical studies, specifically Roman & Greek history/lit). I'm moving out to the island to work a summer job as an educational tour guide of sorts with kids. Kind of a day-program that shows them how to do EMF readings and about the science behind wireless tech. Kind of a niche market, but the market is apparently there and so is the wage.

I'm not a hardcore furry, it's definitely just a social thing for me and I've met some of my best friends in the fandom so I figured I'd stick around. I don't meow, woof or refer to anything as scritches, but at the same time I don't really hold it against people who do. I have a fursona, though I don't think I've ever had a picture of him done as I've never really sat down and figured out how he looks! It's a Snow Leopard, buuuut, that's about it ;)

I'm an avid movie watcher, horror movies in particular. I also collect (and even occasionally play) video games. At last count I'm up to about 700 games spread over 16 systems... I can quit anytime I want to, I swear! I also write short stories in my spare time. I'm always happy to get feedback, as any artist/writer would be, and I can even take constructive criticism without throwing a hissy fit; I know, I know, insane, but it's true.

Ha. Thanks man, I'd appreciate that. I've put one up in the Writing section and welcome any feedback at your leisure. I wouldn't say I'm 'trained' and my grammar is less than stellar (though that's what revisions are for), but it's what I enjoy so it's what I do.
