I simply ask: who is directly being harmed out of all this?  Someone posted the whole "comment virginity stolen," thing when I first joined, I've since completely forgotten who it was, and quite frankly, there are articles in the Province about albino people getting mad at Earls restaurants for serving "albino chicken wings" that I gave more of a shit about.

Its not a harm thing in my eyes, its an annoyance thing. Kind of like receiving an e-mail about penis enlargement. you see you got a message and think it might be something important till you find out what it actually is and just think "Why?.. what is the point?"

I didn't really care when it was done on my page, but I can see how some people would just be annoyed the the "first!" type comments.

I find it hilarious that people immediately jump ten metres into the air over the "virginity" aspect of comment virginity.. If I follow your logic, then we should all start a riot on products made of extra virgin olive oil or Virgin Airlines or something.

I did get one of these comments recently, and to be honest... I didn't like it. I can understand the playful nature with it, and that's cool... but...

It felt more like 'I'm only talking to you because of this game' going on.  And that didn't feel welcoming, dood.

Oh no, Ember's really a very nice guy. He just wants us to think him an asshole, but it's all a ruse. He's actually quite decent.

I understand the whole point of the topic and Yes its kind of Hard to know where you draw the line. I know im not an Angel as I have  played the game myself and taged a Number of people in the past. though I dont say I Stole your Virginity Least Not Here. I have said "Yay I got first post" then I follow by a Hello ^.^ and a wave.

I was tagged the first day I joined here, and on FA & DA and FJ. so its really just a play thing. and happens everywhere its not going to stop and its not really a problem. and if you word it nicely and Not say I RAPED your comments or the such I really dont see a Problem here and I dont think calling someone a "intellectually challenged individual" is the right course of Action o.O Im just sayin ^.^

I would kind of have to agree that that sort of comment doesn't exactly give a great vibe to kids joining the forums, but for the most part, everyone (even the kids who MIGHT take it the wrong way...) know it's just a joke and it doesn't mean anything.
I just wish it wasn't some sort of game to comment on a new users page like that.
I think it'd be a better game to see who can befriend them first. :highfive:

Interesting thread, but i've only seen one person post that it actually affected them negatively in any way. Annoying? Maybe, but i've seen a few responses here that state that they thought it was humorous for them. It may be personal preference. Like the annoying :birdy: Im sure it will die out in time without involvement from above.

I'd like to point out that if you have an issue or are offended by something someone says you have multiple options, such as:

- Reporting that person and what offended you to a moderator. If it's against forum rules they will deal with it.

- Hit the phrase "delete comment" and *poof* it disappears.

^ This. As a 'kid' (relatively speaking :P) it didn't really bother me all that much... sure it can be interpreted the wrong way, but anything can.
