I really want to make a pair of fursuit Sandals for my fursuit so I can go outside and not get my feetpaws dirty : (

I've looked [almost] everywhere for the foam material for the fursuit sandals. So far I am at a road block Dx

Does anyone have any idea where I can get hard foam (same ones of flip flops?). I want to keep it at a low budget.

Thanks!

Tai

You can look at excrecise/safety mats/tiles. These can be found at Wal-Mart or Canadian Tires and other stores though I can't think of them off the top of my head.

Thanks Tai. I will head over to Canadian Tire when I can : )

I think you can make fursuit sandals out of certain children's floor mats, the puzzle piece shaped ones? Can't remember where I heard that but I've never made any so I don't know how well that would work. Those aren't to hard to find though.

Tai is absolutely right, you can get the foam safety matts at Wal-mart for sure ($10 give or take) and should be able to do so in Canadian Tires as well.

The beautiful thing about this stuff is if you go with the black high density stuff, it stands up to wear and tear better than the childrens foam matts, and it is texturized on one side which will allow for better traction.

Good luck. ^.~

I made mine from a rubber door mat. The kind with a square like knobby like pattern on it. I think I got it from Revs, but its been a while. I used gorilla glue to attach a second softer foam layer on top. The straps were glued in between the layers and came up through slits in the softer foam. Just be careful, if your going to use gorilla glue, as it does foam and expand while it cures. So make sure you put some weight on the layers so they don't push apart, and make sure you clean up any run offs before it all dries.

I managed to find myself a pair of EXCELLENT garden mats. They are roughly an inch in thickness and are VERY durable. They are practically impossible to break apart and I had a hard time wearing them down (making the shape of the footpaw).
I will be finding some vinyl straps. Will be sewing them together. Thanks for the help guys, I will post picture once they are complete.
