I'll start off by saying I don't know if this should go here, or in the sewing category. But anyway-

So I've been finding out that the Island is pretty much a wasteland when it comes to faux fur? I mean there is a very small selection of short pile furs at fabricland, and other fabric stores I've been able to find so far seem to not have any, or only have natural colours.

I don't have any experience in buying fur from shops so I don't know if they can be bought in very small amounts (I imagine that they can, though), but I would be forever grateful if someone who lives near a fabric store like Dressew or Fabricana would go in and poke around for me, and if they can manage to find any blue fur that looks like it would match the head I've commissioned, to send it to me. (And I'll pay for the fur sample and shipping of course!)

The fur I'm looking for is to match the blue on this.

So if anybody wants to go poke around and have a look for me, it would be mucho appreciated! And of course I won't be upset if I'm sent a couple samples and none of them match :P But.... If all else fails I could also probably buy some through the person who made my suit... Though I'm sure it would be much less expensive to do it this way.

Victoria furs do exist but you can't hold a conversation like an adult and ontop of that you are a drama queen so no one wants to hang out with you.

I'm not from the Island, but I know somewhere on-line where you might be able to find fur of that type: it's called punky muppet I believe, and you can get stuff like that at:

www. mendels.com

They've got a HUGE selection of both short and long types of faux fur, in so many colors!! They also can send you, at most, 5 free patches of any faux fur, probably any kind of material you want!! :D

Thanks! :3
But I heard over on the LJ fursuit group for that the punky muppet wasn't very good quality? I did browse the site but if it's alright to use then I definitely could take a second look.

Yeah, fabricland's fur section has been steadily declining for a while, it is vastly irritating.

This may sound odd, but you may want to check out your local Walmart. Don't go to the fabric section, though, head to the rug section. They have (or at least, usually have) long pile faux fur floor coverings, and I believe that their blue one is a fairly close match to the color you are looking for. You would just have to rip the seams all the way around the outside and take off the no-slip backing, and then you should have a fair chunk of the fur you need.

I'm not sure how good the quality of the fur is, but it's worth a look. ^.~

lol well like I said, you could always request a swatch sample, and see for yourself if you like the fur or not. I actually myself, over a year ago, asked for 3 swatch samples, over the course of 3 months of course, but I was really happy with what they looked like. :D So soft and colorful~ ^3^

Also, of course, another thing you could do is buy white fur and die it to the color that you want with a special ink that doesnt wash off as easily o: but that's really up to you lol~ =3

I know where you can order that fur online, but I'm completely clueless as to where you would get it on the Island. The Dressew downtown Vancouver has the best faux fur I've seen so far.

You can order swatches of it too, so you can see it before you buy any yards.

WOW that was a repetitive post! what just happened? My eyes totally blew over the first two reply's and only read Ruby's and Hunny's second one o:

Any who, I'll keep this in mind and take pics of what Dressew has next time I'm in there, which will probably be this winter break.
Quack :V

:O I'll be sure to have a look Ruby, thank you! (:
If you think so Hunny, then I'll order a swatch and see how it looks. n_n
And Purple, that would be awesome, thank you! Haha. (:

your could just request like a sample a day for 2 years then sew it all together and make a fur suit named patches. think of the financial freedom u will get lol

Get swatches from more then one company and I'm sure you could get it done in just a year. Hmm. Multiple mailing adressess. Lets make it in half a year.
