LogMeIn hamachi is a networking program, its needed to make a simple minecraft server.

Hamachi is a way to effectively fake a static IP with a nonstatic connection, Ren. Necessary for most home servers if you don't know your way around DNS management. The alternative is that Rei has to set up port management on his home computer and notify us every time his connection rolls over. It's not really possible to host some servers on a home connection without kludging, either, as most ISPs block hosting ports. TekSavvy doesn't, however.

(Edit: Minecraft 1.8 has gone official! I've played and tested it, confirmed that it's actually surprisingly stable. Just beware the little hell spiders of death in the new mineshaft spawns. We may actually want to regenerate our world, Rei; A *LOT* changed with the world generator, and the new landscapes are nothing short of amazing)

Server Is an iffy idea right now, we had trouble with the fact that I couldn't leave it running all day, so players were dependent on me turning the server on and monitoring it.
