Does anyone have an EasyShare CD for a Kodak CX 7530 digital camera that they'd be willing to part with? I had my compy in for repairs a while ago and the hard drive was wiped to facilitate repairs. The problem is, is that I've lost the CD for my camera and now can't download the pics off of my camera.

Can't you download it from Kodak's website?

Or, after you connect the camera to the computer, it will look like another drive.  You can use Windows Explorer to navigate to the camera, it will look like another drive, and copy the files.

Been there with the Kodak site. All that I get is Fraps, a video software thingy.  :S

When it's plugged into the compy, it's detected as a digital camera, but that's all. I can't do anything further. If there's a good side to this, I can make use of my camcorder more. At least I can download videos from it to the compy.

Here is another solution that you can try, your camera probably saves all the photos/movies to a SD or other type of memory card and in some cases to the camera's built in memory, though if it saves to the camera's built in memory you usually get  the option to transfer the data to a memory card anyways. Then all you have to do is get a memory card reader from a computer store (There cheap) and then plug in your memory card into the card reader and transfer your data to your computer that way. The only down side that I can think of is that you won't be able to update the camera's firmware (Unless you can do it by the memory card then you can), but you probably wouldn't be doing that anyways.

I can give you links to cheap card readers if you want.  :P

The memory card isn't a problem. I'll be spending the weekend at a friend's ( and fellow fur's) place. I can use her camera to get the pics off the card. As for transferring the ones from the internal memory to the card, I'm not sure if that can be done.

I am not sure I worded my post correctly, but you can basically take the memory card out of your camera and put it in a card read and transfer your pictures to your computer that way. You're basically doing the exact same thing but with another camera, with my way you can do it when ever you want with just a computer.

Steps:
1. Eject the memory card out of camera.
2. Insert memory card into card reader.
3. Copy images.
4. Done.

I hope this makes sense.

Don't have a card reader. Wonder what they cost and where I could pick one up.

Any computer store will carry card readers.  Internal, external, USB, firewire, cardbus, ranges from $5 to $60 depending on what you get.

Yeah they are cheap, I got mine on special from NCIX, Here is a link You can probably ebay them for even cheaper or find a even smaller local computer store and get it for less. All depends on which way you want to go.
