hello I'm new both to this forum and to the furry community xD I'm happy to see others from BC

Oh and what are the conventions Like? Are there any in BC? Should I get a fursuit? Anything I should know?

Take a look at the events section, there are lots of smaller event and such all over the province. There are also two main conventions:
Howloween - first weekend in November in Surrey BC.
VancouFur - Someplace in Vancouver, first year will be 2012.

Both events have threads and info posted, yep, in the events section.

Should I get a fursuit?

Do you want one? Not all furries have them, only some do. Some want them, others don't. It's not a requirement to have a fur suit, but if you are really interested in it, you

Anything I should know?

• Not all furries like hugs or to be touched. Most don't mind, but best to ask first.
• There are plenty of meets and stuff, especially in the lower mainland area. Register, show up, have fun.
• Don't be afraid to ask, but do be polite
• Don't eat yellow snow!

The Lakes District of BC is the area around the village of Burns Lake, which is located on BC highway 16, 223 km west of Prince George.

I actually do want a fursuit (of a fox/wolf mix) but most are really expensive so I might wait a bit
