Okay, so, I'm sick of paying $500 rent in a place that is so goddamn small it's about as big, rather, as small as the Dog House living room, including the bathroom, I have to go to my parents to do laundry, I don't even have a dishwasher or bath tub just a shower stall...My kitchen, living area and bed are all in the same stupid space... I want to move!

I have two cages with birds in them (two in one, three in the other), and one cage with two rats, and three cats... My cats are indoor, and are fine with staying in one room.

Is there anyone out there that would want to be roomies with me in some apartment, basement suit or what not, that allows animals? (They are pretty quiet too)

I can't afford to keep paying so much for somewhere I barely have room to move. And I have to keep heaters running through the summer because there is NO insulation in the walls, it's a hard wood floor and right under it is cement...

Needless to say I am so sick and tired of this place, I need a change. I work two jobs, both in Surrey. I am great with money so I never have issues... Anyone have any suggestions, or can help me out? I really appreciate it...

Love to help out, but I'm in southeast Vancouver and my building only allows one small pet and only on the lower floors. =/ I'll keep an ear out, though.

I have a post below where I'm looking for a roommate, and a place.  Nobody's responded to me yet...

My only thing is,  I have a cat, and we'd have to see if our cats would get along.  She already does get along where she is, so unless your cats have trouble accepting a newcommer, we should be ok.

I have references available for any landlord, and shouldn't have too much trouble getting in.  The only reason why I didn't get my last place at Maple Place, is because my proposed roommate's references pretty much told them it wouldn't be a good idea.

What area are you thinking of moving to?  I need to be near skytrain, at least until I get my truck on the road legally.

Star Wonder

Well, if we can get to Guildford, on 104, there is a whole bunch of aparments that allow pets. And it's a bus ride down the exact road to Gateway skytrain. How many pets they would allow I'm not sure, I'm sure we'd have to sneak some in. Of mine anyway. My cats will get along once they get to know each other. I do need to spay my younger female, but it's hard to get to my vet when my mom lives out in Vancouver.

Vanilla Skunk

Guildford works for me.  I have friends nearby, and that's the same bus I always used to take from my sister's house.

Any other snags?  I can't think of any right now.

come to the maple place apartments ! they let you have pets. there is a 200 deposit for pets though. But you can make a payment plan. there is bus stops right in front of the buildings and guildford mall is one block away. a few furs live here ! Like Carthage and I, Tiger and Ice, Spuug !

call the rental place and ask if there is any available suits !! 604-585-1966

I would come to Maple Place, except for the fact that, regardless of being family friends to the roommate I tried to move in with, the landlord denied us getting the apartment.  Maple Place is based on families, with children, and if such a family is waiting to get in, they take precedance over the roommates just trying to get by.

Star, when are you off this week, and do you have the ability to look for a place, seeing as you're on a bike?  I can check Craigslist, and other rental listings, but my transportation is limited.  I'm sure you know how conflicting our work schedules are from last month's attempt, how do you want to go about this?  Should we grab one more roommate? :P

velvetkytten

Um.... huh ? I'm not a family and I had NO issues getting a place here at maple place... either did Spuug....

I don't know why they didn't accept you. It's the first time I've ever heard of them denying someone. That's weird

I think it was because it was the only 2 berom available, and the other party that applied for it was a family.  Their loss.

Besides, I would murder someone if my heat didn't work even for a day.

Star Wonder

I have tried craigslist and all I got back was "do you have nude pics" "I will let you stay with me if I can fuck you" and on ...and on...and on...I didn't even state I was a girl, just what jobs I did...

I don't know how to go about it. The place I'm in is next to my parent's house and are friends with the neighbours so I got in easily of course... I've never actually moved to a new place... So I am lost about how to go about it...

I need to be either in Newton, Guildford or Langley

velvetkytten

I know I HATE what is going on my my suite. But what can ya do right ? places are hard to find in locations you need to be AND to find a place you can afford and keep your pets... those are the big reason's why I stay.

And there is the outdoor pool.

I say... apply together... don't say your relationship with each other... you might give off the impression that you are a couple. Couples get places fast too.
And they can't ask any "personal" questions like.. are you together.

it never hurts to try again. And keep calling them about openings. You never know.

You know what's sad?  There's cheaper places available.  At the current price of rent, Star and I would be paying $425 each for the suite.  I was struggling with $400/month, and if possible I'd rather be living in a basement suite, or a full house.  That way, if something goes wrong with the water, or the heat, I can fix it myself.

Star Wonder

Same here... Hey we should start a house XD haha... or not... anyway...

I'm open to anything Felix

That's creepy as hell.

We saw a Craigslist ad a year or so ago where some guy was looking for a girl to share accommodations with. He was asking $100 a month and the girl had to be single. Yeah, no strings attached on that one, I'm sure.

Star Wonder

Yeah I can't look on Craigslist. others can by all means... but... The stuff I was bombarded with... oh my god... And I'd rather move in with a fellow furry... because I've not met a furry I didn't like or didn't get along with. And it's funny, almost all the furries I know are really responsible, understanding, and actually talk things through with each other. I've met normal people, adults, that are...so immature.
