So, I am thinking about getting an Iphone once I get a better job.
I like ipods and all that jazz. I'm also planing on getting a macbookpro.
Anyways Anyone know any good plans for an Iphone?

I think they all round off to $100 a month. :l

If you get WIND in your area, fairly soon you will be able to use iPhones with it, and you can get an unlimited plan for $45.

However by soon I mean when iPhone 5 or 6 comes out...

(T-Mobile operates on the same cellular band as Wind, so phones that work with one will work with the other)

Keep in mind that you'd also be buying your phone outright at 550-750, and that their unlimited plan is now about 55 :)

But I love Wind, and would recommend most people to that network provided they stayed within the bounds of major cities.

Oh yes, an arm and a leg for sure.
Hoping to have a stable job when I do decide to get one.
Is wind good? I'm not sure if it is, I have heard it's not that good for certain parts of vancouver. :l

Wind is great. Been on them since December, haven't had an issue with their network. Do have an issue with the phone I have currently, but I think it's probably because of the heavy use I put it through. Mainly, would just ensure you're covered by their area if you're looking to do it

I'm holding off on a iPhone until I get my first real production job. I currently switched from a feature phone to a (no data plan nor 3G) Blackberry... this means, in order for the phone to be "smart", it has to use Wi-Fi.

I'm looking at getting the iPhone 4 through Telus - it's $159 to get the phone on a three-year plan, and their base data and voice plan is $50 which is probably more than I'll ever need. They also have the 3gs available still.

Will you also get texting? or is that the data plan? o:
Sorry I'm not good with phone lingo. ;A;

Over the course of the contract, you'd save in the long run by going Wind though. Just looking over the stuff.

Under the cheapest Telus plan, you'd be paying 50 base plus 8 for call display and ~5 for visual voicemail (this one's more optional though)... so ~63 before tax (maybe extra surcharges too, dunno about telus.)

Wind, 35 (25 smart + 10 internet) for everything the telus plan offers and more (unlimited data versus 500MB), plus 5 for voicemail. ~40 before tax.

23 dollar difference over 36 months (900) + upfront cost (159 on 3 year) of the phone is 987. 987-659(buying outright)=328 savings. And the freedom to give them the finger whenever if you don't like their service.

Besides though, you'd be silly to buy an iphone just before a model refresh in a couple months.

As for Wind Coverage area: http://www2.windmobile.ca/en/pages/storesandcoverage.aspx

I can confirm that they have service in the yellow area now too.

I have an iPhone 4 plan with rogers. I paid $209 for the 32gb version of the phone last month, with 3 year contract. As for the plan, I pay $52 before tax (60ish after) for 3gb data, 200daytime min, unlimited weekends, weekdays after 6pm, voicemail, unlimited texting and caller display. Definitely been one of my best decisions, it's a wonderful phone and the network has good reception and coverage when I visit my mum on vancouver island. Didn't know about wind, though ^^

So it looks like the minimum amount your going to be spending a month is around $40.00+
Depending on the plan you get. Seem reasonable if I had a steadier job.

I like the after 6pm deal for Rogers, I like talking on my phone.
The cell phone I currently have has unlimited texting/free calls after 8pm. 6pm would be better. XD

So you guys are recomending Wind, But I have heard it drops calls in certain areas in Vancouver.
Is that true?

As I've said, I've had no problems with Wind's coverage except on the Canada Line (they weren't around when it was fitted with antennae for Rogers/Bell/Telus).

Wind is also unlimited talking at any time of the day on any plan greater/equal than/to 25 though. Just depends on how far out you would want to be talking (25 = local, 35 = province, 45 = canada).
