Hey guys, So I love seeing Urban Exploration photos.
For those who don't know what Urban Exploration is, it's pretty much going into abandoned buildings and taking pictures and exploring. It varies. I hope to do some of my own Explorations some day.
What are your thoughts on Urban exploration? Would you ever even think of going?  If you have gone, what were your experiences?

From what I hear, it's pretty dangerous. Going into abandoned places, dodging security.
It's a beautiful art. The photos I have seen make my imagination go wild.
They would be great for concept designs for games, drawings and great for people thinking of backdrop for movies. Some of them look like there straight out of silent hill.

Ooh. Art inspiration. Thank you, Brittany. Current project is rather Silent Hill-like, and I've been on the lookout for inspirational material.

That is awesome! I love derelict explorations! A shame I don't have a decent camera, there are a bunch of places I'd love to get some really good photos of.

Was reading up on this just last week! Some of it is truly amazing, it's just awesome overall. And screw asbestos!

It sounds really cool I've always wanted to explore old abandoned haunted areas or a old abandoned asylum they make great art photos aswell im interested in the imagery photography and the paranormal activity

Sevrin

I'm not so much interested in the art, but I do love to explore, especially in places rarely touched by humans, such as abandoned buildings

Vancouver has alot of nice spots. Gardens between buildings, and balconies looking over falls which look to be all prublic access. Haven't seen much abondoned buildings around here. Contuctions site are everywhere but they usually have a person with a couple dogs.

Me to! Some of the angles they capture the photos at are just amazing. I have a cannon, but it's not like one of those high end $1000 ones. :c

Exploring is always fun. Don't really need to take photos for the art.  c: There are not many places that are abandoned, especially in Vancouver. :c One day I will stumble across one.

Here you go.  http://urban_decay.livejournal.com/

I used to do urban caving ages back.  There's not many places where you can do it locally, as everything tends to either get torn down right away, or it's well sealled up to prevent people from getting in.

You pretty much have to leave Vancouver to find decent places to explore these days.

Sorry Rei, I can't relay precise details. Generally, however? Episodic indie releases at 4-6 month intervals, $3-5 per episode, title as of yet undecided (It's under a working title in pre-alpha right now), and inspired by older, more psychologically focused survival horror, particularly along the lines of earlier Silent Hill, with dashes of Psychonauts.

Urban exploration is something I have always wanted to do.
