What was the point of that post? there hasn't been a lot of hateful comments. There was the initial "We think you're a dick because of how you behave, and that you're hiding behind aspergers" but other than that its been fine. Did you even read it? Mostly, i believe there's been support and a general "good for you for trying to help people understand".

Normally I'm the one to stir the shit pot, but really? come on.

Agreed. I am very close to someone who was clinically diagnosed with aspergers and had all of these symptoms (spent a month in the hospital for depression due to it).
Actually, through diet and lifestyle he has managed to reverse it completely.

Except that he opened by shooting down any and all responses from another forum member right off the bat. The pot had been stirred before you even stepped up to it, sir.

Secondly, I'm pretty sure that he did that to avoid a flame war between the two, which in my experience happens EVERY TIME the two interact. Immature and childish, perhaps, but the kid's 16. That's not exactly the most mature age of anyone. I'm sure if Selkit was really offended or bothered by this he would have either reported the thread to an admin or something.

Honestly, this thread was ACTUALLY pretty decent all things considered, until people decided to personally attack him for posting the thread in the first place. How does that make you any better than he is?

I think the point of this thread was the discuss what Aspergers is, and how it affects people. Also, the point was to dispel myths. Lt ReiStark has made a clear post explaining, quite boldly, his personal faults that are not related to Aspergers.

But that is not the point, understanding Aspergers is. How about we all get back on topic now? Kthx <3

Well all autism is different between cases, even if the people have the same type of autism, but im SOOOOO glad im not in a wheel chair in my own little world for 15 hours every day. i know somebody with realy bad autism and she needs a care worker every day to help her because otherwise she sits in bed and wont eat. Aspergers is in ways a blessing for me, my verbal comunication skills are past collage level, i've been told by workers that the way i talk (Not post on forums) is like talking to a fifty year old man in a boys body.
Aspergers hit me hard when i was young though, but some good helpers and some tight friends have realy helped me.

As for people with Aspergers, it does effect people differently, and I think a large part of that is how it's dealt with by the people around you. My best friend had/has aspergers, and I can't post all of it up here, because it's mostly from my own observations, so its pretty biased. But suffice to say that if his mom hadn't treated it the way she had, I believe he would've had a much easier time of it than he did.

My mum was great after the workers i had gave her a kick in the butt LOL. i can understand, my mom's way of dealing with it for years was to go out with her friends and leave me at home either alone or with my older sister. some people just don't understand aspergers syndrom :(
