This actually is my Desktop, I never have my desktop icons showing, my quick launch and taskbar are set to auto-hide at all times.

The Image is of the Great Old One Azathoth. I can't remember the name of the Artist who did this though.

I use minimal desktop icons.  I used a few more when I had a 19" CRT, but not anymore.  At work, I have dual 21" WS monitors.  No icons, but I doubt the height of my task bar so I can have one row of Quick task and one row of active applications.

My own desktop. No sense in posting both monitors worth; The other monitor's solely used for dragging over chunks of Modo or Photoshop for multi-monitor work. Downscaled from native 1920x1200 resolution.
