shes right, Koodo has everything my phone does i feel like rogers ripped me off, oh well im stuck with em for 3 years =/

Katherine uses Koodo, too, and likes it. Their new "big huge mouth" ads are terrifying, though. I dislike them so much that I semi-seriously ponder defacing them.

Ember

Koodo is really Telus in disguise, just FYI.

TarekCoyote

its truely unforutnate that Koodo just doesn't have any of the phones i want :( if they supplied in either the Instinct, Thunder, or iPhone's, id be all over these guys
All i want in life... is life.

I'm the same, I want magical special cool phones too!
Looking at their plans, it's beautiful...
But it doesn't grab my stuff.

Well, yes. Their model seems to be pretty good, though, so I try not to hold that against them too much.

Star Wonder

It's made by Motorola but it's still awesome I've dropped mine a million times. the service is awesome though...yay!

No it's not, it just uses the telus radio network.

If you take a bell phone that's no longer on a plan, and call 611 on it, you get Telus.

Same goes for Virgin phones.

Both companies have been around longer than Telus. :P

Yup ^^ My dad had an old Rogers plan and he got Telus when it ran out when he hit 611 then gave the phone to me because he wanted a new phone and plan. Lol

Vanilla Skunk

That must've been one of the older phones.  Rogers switched to GSM phones in '02 or '03.

Koodo is, in fact, a TELUS subsidiary: http://www2.canada.com/montrealgazette/news/business/story.html?id=0b384d47-a6bd-442d-919c-38a37abf094b

Coming from an American perspective, I'm appalled by the options offered in Canada. When I saw Koodo, their plans looked like a breath of fresh air compared to the rest.
Originally, I would have chosen Fido because they have some very good plans, but I heard their customer service was terrible, and plus I read that they are simply a Bell subsidary.

As for Koodo, yes, they are a Telus subsidary, and there's also a nice little bit of fine print in the Terms of Service saying that they can make changes to your plan without giving any notice at all. Still, they're probably the better option unless they begin to mess around with their clients.

Unfortunately, I'd rushed into a 3 year contract with Telus upon arriving into Canada, because I felt like I needed a phone *so* badly (this was not true, I was just a sissy). However, Telus does have some great customer service, I've rearranged my plan massively and the woman I spoke with was very courteous and extremely helpful, and waved any extra fees.

That's my two sense!

Silvermink

Yeah, the level of service and value offered by Canadian carriers is, by and large, pathetic. Rogers, especially, has people over a barrel right now because they have a GSM monopoly through most of the country (they own Fido too) and have the most popular phones.
