I think instead of looking for that signifigant other, you should just wait, and let life happen.

Hi, I'm waiting for nearly 8 years and my life is absolutely miserable.

I still don't think the dating section is necessary but have some more meets would be nice. But seriously don't sit around and wait for someone unless you have a traumatic social experience that makes you feels anxious and scared around people (In which case you should try to get along with people of similar interests and slowly walk away from that dark room in your head)

Also you have to keep in mind that if you're looking for a female partner, there isn't as many of us on the forums as there are males, and not all of us are as local as others. And not every female is into men. I for example live in Abbotsford and can't drive. So if anyone was interested to meet me, they would need to do the traveling. Not all of us are single and local (I'm single, but not local). Also there's people like me who make men do all the work to prove that they want me and aren't just trying to get laid. Lol.

Which makes me wonder if there's a local furry dating site. There's one for geeks.

There's a local dating site for geeks, what?

Anyhow, I like the idea of a dating section. I understand the people suggesting that locals just go to furry events to meet their partners, but doesn't that just make people come to the events with the intent of finding a partner, rather than enjoying the social event itself? Some people may not feel comfortable going to the events alone when they are unacquainted with anyone, and I know quite a few people that like to keep to themselves, but are still interested in dating, and will only go to very tiny social events that are filled with close friends. Furmeets certainly aren't for everyone, and I really don't think they're the dating scene.

I think a dating section might be pretty cool.

I'm going to have to find myself a big bad wolf sooner or later :3
No sir, we do not approve.

I suppose I should be looking.  ???
The reasons I've never had anyone is because a very sheltered upbringing has made me into a socially reclusive guy. . . that and social events of any sort will cost money which is something I make very little of. :P Minimum wage and shitty hours, and I'm trying to save for what is one of the expensive university degrees available, veterinary medicine.  :-\

I don't mind getting out to meet more people for the sake of 'looking' for someone. As long as it is in a safe organized group, and the price isn't too high.
