"Mass Mating"?......wtf...

So I was chatting with this furry one day and she told me that like all true furrys, she and her furrie friends all get together sometimes and have "mass mating" meetings, or in other term Orgys. She explained that she cant be in a relationship because of that. Because shes a furry and a relationship would get in the way of her "activites". Im just curious and want to get opinions here, is this "mass mating" really what a "true" furry does? Because of common sense and furry knowlegde, I dont think thats right. Any thoughts?

The only thing that comes to mind is RL Troll? For the record, no, furries do not participate in mass orgies because they are furs. The furry community does not embrace this. That's not to say there aren't people on here having orgies for any number of their own reasons, but generally, not as furs.

If that was "true furriness," I would renounce my association with the fur fandom in a heartbeat. I'm happily married, and I don't want any "mass mating," as it were. That could very quickly lead to some...unhappy times...and diseased times, to put it as politely as possible.
Furry, unfortunately, doesn't have a very cohesive idea of what it wants to be. However, I suggest this video:

It is the first of 4 videos, and unfortunately I can't remember which particular video it is in, but he talks about why furries have the sexual thing hanging over their heads. It's an interesting take.
In my own opinion, after watching many furs and talking to them, you get kind of a range of people. Some of them are simply here because they like the artwork/drawing aspect, they enjoy anthropomorphic animals in general, and don't really associate sexuality with it. There are fursuiters who also do not associate sexuality with furs. Then, we kind of have a sliding scale of fursuiters and artists and art fans who get farther and farther into the sexual aspect. People as a whole are sexual creatures, and I can accept this. However, "true furs" don't necessarily have to deal with sex related to their fur-ness. They are what they want to be.

Maybe just on the pure fetish end of things could I see this. But your average, everyday fur isn't likely to participate in something like this. I for one, consider myself a 'true' furry, and I do not partake in orgies. o_O

cant say i despise the idea completely but i would NEVER do it EVER!!!! i cant even do i one night stand lol i am to much of a lover hehe you know its not fun unless there is some sort of connection or love. Also the diseases would be terrible in something like that very unhealthy Yuck in that way. No i make out at 3 haha but maybe even that is to high for most people.

No, furries are not obligated to mate in a mass orgy.  That is not furry, that is orgy.

Furries are fans of furry creatures.  That is all.  What you do on top of that is something else.

And humans "mate" ... it's not a furry exclusive word.
