Ugg... I am so busy with schoolwork I've actually banned myself from social media.
Including this website... but I'm planning to hit up Vancoufur tomorrow, so I dropped the ban on this forum.

And if I could find/convince new furs to meander here, I totally would. But I haven't talked to any fur, new or old, face-to-face in... a lot of months. (Other than hanging out with a friend of mine for a day after he moved here). But really, the only people I see at AI are web students (the same 5 web students) and none of my classmates have been furs since Zee was in my class (once).

I really don't know where everyone else disappeared to. Xen and Ceo, you were the only ones that ever came to our AI Meets. :P

Lieutenant

I'm swamped with homework. Mainly rigging.

I was at VF yesterday and I ran into at least 5 AI furs, one who's new so you might be able to meet up with him at school. I don't actually know his name but moo was hanging out with him a bunch. I didn't see Aster or Lieutenant there though, however, Ceo, Moo Bear, Temrin, Zee, Chloe and a few others were there.

Aster

I hit up VF on Friday with a friend of mine. Hung out with Ceo for a while and saw Temrin, but that's about it as far as AI furs went.
Did I have time to go to VF? No. Did I go anyway? Yes.

Sooooo much homework >.=.<

Also, if any of you are free in the afternoon on the 21st, you should totally come and check out the portfolio show, as I will be standing there for hours and hours. It will be grand.

I hope I'll be able to. But I already know I won't be able to get to Indie3 and I'm really dissapointed in that.

Digipig

I was an AI Student between 2002-2004 Game Design Program. Two years of my life I won't get back.

What do you do now?

These days I'm a writer (unpublished mind you, but I'm working on it) and that is what I'm focusing all my efforts on.

Like a lot of people who graduate from these programs I failed to find work in that field. Maybe it was for lack of trying, maybe not. But in the end I think what happened was I just grew out of hardcore gaming as a lifestyle and suddenly I was no longer interested in trying to get my foot in the door of that industry.

I can chalk it all up to interest in creating a story and unless you're the 2-3 people on top of a project that's hard to do and writing can give me that.

Yeah, writers in the industry are professional writers first, game designers second... also, most of the jobs aren't in Vancouver anymore because of our government. So you can blame them for that... but there are still some jobs.

I totally missed you at the portfolio show. I didn't find the room with web designers in it.. and the GAD room was split between 2 places.

Aster

Yeah... all three of us were tossed in with the Graphic Designers, and they totally didn't put up the Web Design banner, so no one could find us. :P
Wish I coulda walked around a bit instead of being trapped at my table. But hey, now I'm done!  :birdy:

Well that's awesome Aster! Any ideas what you're gonna do now?

Aster

Heading back to Alberta for Easter / my dad's birthday. Then I guess I need to decided which province I want to work in, and proceed with job/housing searching. xP

I declare this thread dead.

Didn't you kind of bring it back by posting in it?
I've always been told to never look a life behind a window to go outside and join the world, but what about the world behind that window makes the outside so much better?
