people thought they were garbage o.o
I wanted them in my room, I'm almost done removing all these tags and need posters and other things to hang. I wanted to put that above my bed, I got them at howlow so it felt special to me. I can always find them again long the way.. But they won't feel the same :( oh well. When you're around people, ish Japans.

Let's count the ways today sucked...

- Mysterious sharp gastrointestinal pain showing four distinct potential appendix warning signs (Sharp rebound pain, nausea, centerline-to-right pain, and a near-inability to bend down)
- Prompt ER trip due to said GI pain which became a not so prompt battery of tests; I went in at 8 AM. I'm writing this now. Go fig.
- One of those tests, I can only describe as being in a breath-control machine while someone periodically intravenously dumps shots of candy-red fluid into you, that quite literally make you feel like a human teacup; Suddenly and without warning full of chaotic, hot slosh. Still a bit nauseated from that crap
- My veins are almost impossible to find; Not the poor vampire-- er, phlebotomist's fault, it's my arms. Unfortunately, it's my arms, and I'm covered in needle sticks at the moment. Several of which got poked around in a bit to try and find a suitable place to put the IV. To say they ache is something of an understatement. Thankfully, only one of the sticks bruised badly at the surface, so I only sorta look like an addict.

- Edit: I forgot to add, no solid food for me today. Hooray for pre-test fasting.

Good news? No immediate worries with the appendix. Bad news? There are other possibilities, none of which are at all pleasant. Stay tuned for more musteline bitching after tomorrow's tests.

Murdered another pair of earphones. Bought these just a month ago... Must be a new record. Last pair broke after 5 or 6 months which is a regular occurrence for me.

I need to start shielding the connection point between the wires and the jack. Go and buy some shrink tubing or somethin'. /lazy

TransLink raising the fares (again!) for both cash fares and passes.

It's not much of a problem for me since I have a BC Bus Pass... but just posted it for you Vancouver-area Furs to see.

Oh great! =>.<=
Thanks for pointing that out, I might've missed that otherwise.

Oh well, at least single-zone FareSavers aren't going up in price.

I had appendicitis when I was in Year One. I only found out a couple of days afterwards, so it seems. It was the size of my pinky when the folks cut three holes into my abdomen and excised it out.
You're doing yourself a huge favour for checking the premature tell-tale signs of appendicitis, Selkit. Good for you, no seriously.

Edit: I had a peculiar, yet painful case of something resembling appendicitis but without the appendix - A sense of congested gas of sorts in the abdominal area several months post-operation. Whether it has any tie-ins to appendicitis, I do not know. Just some advice that I hope you may find convenient. Best of luck.  :)

I know that feel. .3. But it's so good, I can't stop watching it either.

So yeah, I've been getting depressed lately. I think S.A.D. is starting to kick in and I really need to force myself to go outside more when the sun is shining. :-\ Has anybody ever tried light therapy before? I'm just curious if it was ever helpful to anybody because I hate feeling down more then anything else.

For those of you who use transit.

As of Jan 1st 2013 it gets a bit more expensive.

Quoted from CBC News Vancouver  -  "  An adult one-zone fare goes up by 25 cents to $2.75 from the current $2.50. Two-zone fares rise to $4.00 and three-zone to $5.50.
Monthly passes rise to $91, $124 and $170, for one-, two- and three-zones respectively.
Prices on books of Faresavers tickets will not change.

TransLink says the scheduled increase is to cover the costs of inflation. "

This is probably the first of many cost of living increases for 2013 that will be coming in the next few weeks.

I've never been seriously depressed, but fwiw I've found light therapy and low-impact exercise did wonders for seasonal anxiety. Not the same thing at all, but it might be helpful. :P

I don't know about light therapy, but I do know that on a bright sunny day, it takes about 1 second for my mood to go from depressed to ecstatic when I step out into the light.

I have one of those lights - actually, I'm using it right now. I feel like it works, and more importantly I think the research suggests it does as well.

Exercise helps my mood a lot too. I have to get out and get a bit each day even if the weather's crappy, or I feel really off.

Day 18 of said apocalypse. It has been literally every night anywhere from 10:30 to one AM since almost exactly three days before Halloween and I am SICK of it.

Apparently, my Scoville tolerance is woefully low. I had some mildly spicy Mexican food today for lunch and my nose just ran like the Niagara Falls.
