I played a couple of the Silent Hills and a few of the Resident Evil games. I haven't played any of the new ones though.

I honestly can't call the later Resident Evil games Survival Horror.  I do play Eternal Darkness a lot and other psychological horrors.  Does the original Splatterhouse count?

Look up an emulated copy of Splatterhouse.  They are also remaking it now to be re released in October as a halloween release.  Old horror games, yeah I don't know all that many.  I played NES until about a year after N64 came out.

ya nes, mario and duck hunt on one cartridge :birdy:

I LOVE Silent Hill! I'm currently playing Origins and Homecoming on and off when I have time. I still need to get Shattered Memories for the Wii/Ps2 so I can have the collection current and complete <3 I also have most of the Resident Evil games. I really loved the first one ( I'd always hit the first zombie and die instantly...every time..) and number 4 is also one of my faves. WESKER! ..though I like Alfred Ashford more..ha!

Though I must say that Siren, Clive Barker's Jericho and Condemned 2: Bloodshot are some of the scariest games I have ever owned/played in my life!!! I know they're not old school..but they are still awesome.

I'll be checking out the remake of Splatterhouse for the Ps3 when it comes out.
Words. Words. Words.

DONT GET SHATTERD MEMORIES!!!!!!!!! :o :o :o
i have played it and it sucks compared to the other silent hills. the only it is better is the massive mind fuck it gives you at the end of the game.

Bloodthirstyfang

played all the Resident evils cept for zero because gamecube games are rare XD and I played only silent hill 2 ;3 thought the silent hill series is the scariest survival horror out there.

Lt ReiStark

I play all the games like that, and the game that inspired most of them DooM.
and RE4 is a survival horror game from a different perspective, and its got more combat, but keeps in the spirit of the first three games. RE5 sucks balls though, can't see any attempt at being like the classics.

Commandment#21. Liquor up in frontith, poker ist in thine back.

Oh god SS2. Oh the (partially repressed) memories...

Also if you want a really good Survival Horror game, get Afraid of Monsters: Directors Cut. It's an old Half-Life mod, and it reminds you of just how scary the old half-life engine could be!
