I like the messages, they add a special flavor to this board.  Of course, if you're many time zones away like me, it's a bit out of sync BUT that just adds to the quirkiness.

I'm new, started actively posting about a week ago.
I think that your board is going to keep on gaining in popularity.  It's open-minded, comprehensive, spirited.  
And another thing that makes BCFurries very special is that you're in BC.  You guys may take that for granted, but to an outsider, it seems like a fascinating place -- a great mix of urban life + nature.
