You've hit the threshold level whereby the drivers for the headphone cannot take the volumetric output of the player without it first experiencing, for the lack of a better term, what we call 'bass farting'.

A lot of 'popular' headphones marketed to consumers suffer from this.

The headphone wasn't meant to handle that kind of mid-bass level outputs.

Yeah, it probably wasn't meant for the levels my bass amp puts out through the headphone jack...  but it doesn't sound like bass 'farting' it just sounds like regular bass guitars are starting to sound more like the sine wave bass that most hip hop songs have.
