I would suggest if Mikau and Rino/Dylan are serious about running this convention in Vancouver, they should dedicate themselves towards another big convention first to get an idea of the work and money involved.  Rainfurrest would be my suggestion.

You simply cannot create a viable, successful convention without first knowing what it's like to work with others on a large scale event.  The main people who started Rainfurrest had run and helped run multiple other conventions before even thinking of starting it up.  Having a major con like this only a 3 hour drive away, it makes sense to me to gain experience there before pretending to know anything about running your own.

I run Howloween out of my own pocket and it is NOT cheap, and most definitely NOT easy, and that's just a single day event, not a convention.
