Hey there!

I'm pretty new to the furry fandom, only started to get into it a month or two ago but I can say it's sticking fast.

I'm in the Fraser Valley area looking to make some new buddies either online or who can do meets, (arcade anyone?).
Old souled, but barely legal in Vegas. Single, but probably ill-equipped to mingle. Romanticises the 80s, but is glad the world is getting more progressive.
Big Sci-Fi nerd, lover of Raspberries, Anxious but still pretty chill, etc.

(Also worth noting that keeping too many tabs open is a crux of mine... So if it says I'm online but I take a good awhile to reply... I'm either AFK, or lost on another site.)

UPDATE (2019-06-22)

Trying to be back on the forum / finally get involved in local furry stuff.  :birdy:

Art:

Monster Artist (main focus is Yautja/Predators, but will draw other species happily), working to improve on Furs & Humans.
Recently getting back into customizing figures, & painting model kits.
Occasional fic writer. Might try my hand at videos.

Gaming (Tabletop & Video):

D&D player, newly into Magic: The Gathering.
Spyro, Ratchet & Clank, Hotline Miami, Resident Evil, AVP, Skyrim, Bloodborne, DOOM

Profile Update: Main sona is still a Raccoon. Single. One year more into Adulthood.
Still in the Fraser Valley. Introvert with a low social battery trying to be more social.
Collector. Fave movies: Predator (1&2), DREDD (2012), Alien/Aliens.

Welcome!

There's a group of us in the valley, largely in Abbotsford - they coordinate via a Facebook group, but I deleted my account there (for the 2nd time, natch). Not because of any issue with them (the opposite! We're still in touch), just because ew Facebook. ;p  But if that's your thing, I could talk to them about sending you an invite if you're interested.

I'm over the river in Mission, personally, but if you're looking for meetups, we're actually hosting our roughly-monthly meet at my place next weekend - you're welcome to stop by and say hi to the group if you like!  Just PM me here for the exact address.

Fraser Valley Furmeet (Apr 2018)

I'm a child of the 80s, myself, with a collection of old video game consoles, and a room dedicated to what could turn into little LAN parties one day.

Typically there's a bit of Rock Band and Mario Kart, or Mario Party, other random games (Genital Jousting is hilarious and lewd), that sort of thing, a lot of socializing as people catch up, and a little alcohol.  We have plenty of crash space if anyone had to drive and wants to be able to drink.

Usually we trade off every month between hosting at Tehbet's in Abbotsford and at mine and Bean Toes' here in Mission.  Keep an eye on the 'Calendar' link up top if you're looking for more events (though most skew towards Vancouver), or feel free to post suggestions.

Retro

Hi there! Thanks for the suggestions! I don't use Facebook too much myself, but that could be a cool group to join.

Sounds like an awesome meet up, unfortunately I have some family obligations this weekend, so won't be able to make this one.  :(
(I'll definitely keep an eye-out and PM you guys about the next one that pops up though).
However, I am a mean Mario Kart player (well, decent player anyways), and there's always something great about a few drinks and making some new friends. I can usually get rides to avoid driving whenever there's booze involved.

Also that's pretty cool, being able to to do some LAN. Really opens up multiplayer options. Fun too when you've got everyone actually with each other instead of just over mics.

Kithop

Okay, I just PMed you some details on who to talk to on Facebook if you'd like to join the private group there.

I'm going to talk to her as well this weekend about cross-posting events they start back to the forums here, as I'm sure there are a couple more who may be wanting to get away from FB, even though it doesn't mean wanting to get away from the actual group.

You'll probably want to keep an eye on the Calendar and related Lower Mainland Events board here in the meantime for new postings.  I try to include 'Fraser Valley' in all the titles of the things I post, so it's obvious it's not Metro Vancouver.

Hope to see you around sometime!

Beantoes

Hi hi!

new friends in the Fraser valley yay! like Kithop said we try to host meets at our place every once and a while.

Feel free to PM me and i can add you on Facebook.

hope to see you at one of the meet ups in the near future!

Hey, hey Retro and welcome to the forums!
I live down in Surrey but I would love to travel down to the Fraser Valley area to meet up with the furs there sometime soon, hope you are enjoying yourself here man. :)

Retro

Hey, sorry for the late reply! Life has been hectic lately.  :-\

I'll definitely look into making a furry facebook! Thanks for all the info and welcoming you guys! Although it's not a site I use too much, it might be a good place to start. Will also look into telegram, it seems big here but I'll confess I've never heard of it before joining the fandom.

And I'll definitely be looking to come to some local meets and events, and ditto on hoping to meet you guys there. I'm not exactly a social butterfly, but I really like making new friends.

Has anyone done/are there meets & events down at the arcade, Castle Fun Park? Because that could be rad.

Beantoes

I know someone hosted an event at Castle fun park last year, but nothing recent. i would love a meet up at the arcade ( need to get my pinball on)

usually when the weather warms up events like camping, picnics and water park outings are usually the main events.

I was just poking my head over at the water park websites to see when they open (not till June  :'( )

i hoping someone will plan a meet up at one of them
