Hello all!

Um... how to introduce myself...

Well, I originally joined the furry community back around 2001, and was really active on alt.lifestyle.furry (back when Usenet was the Facebook/Twitter/Instagram of its day) for many years. I met my mate, the love of my life, Avenging Lioness, on a.l.f., and we had 14 wonderful years together.

Unfortunately, my mate died in 2015, and I've been struggling to start rebuilding my life again ever since.

I am at the, "doing okay" stage of grieving, meaning I am indeed doing okay in terms of emotional stability, support from family/friends, performing all required being-an-adult tasks, etc...  I would even venture to say that I have reached a point where I am somewhat happy again, overall, though there's a ton of qualifiers and footnotes on that statement.

I've been trying to reconnect with the furry commmuninty, but I struggle with social anxiety. One truly happy moment of the past two years was finally getting a fursuit and meeting up with a bunch of other furries to participate in the 2016 Bellingham Procession of the Species parade. I was SO HAPPY. My face muscles were actually hurting at the end of the day from all the smiling (though nobody could see that because of the suit). I think it was probably a cathartic release from all the sadness, doing something that would seem so pointless to non-furries, but to me it was an important life-goal I finally got to check off.

Here's a picture of me in the parade:

But after the parade was over I let my social anxiety get the better of me, and I didn't stay in touch with the furries I'd met. I made a decision this year that I'd go to the 2017 parade, reconnect, then stay connected afterwards, but instead my body decided that it would rather spend that weekend in bed with the flu.

Anyway, I don't think letting myself just hide for another year is a very good idea, so I did some searching and found these forums. As much as I like hanging out at home with my cats, I'd also like to get to know some local(ish) furries in the Langley(ish) area, perhaps to chat/meet/hangout/attend local furry events with.

My fursona is wolf/rabbit, meaning that I'm one or the other, depending on mood/circumstances. My main hobbies are video games (mostly Pokemon Go these days, because I enjoy going for walks) and writing. I spend way too much time writing furry fiction in comparison to time I ought to be spending publishing it.

So, again, hello!

Biting is excellent;  it's like kissing, only there is a winner.
