It is with saddened heart that I make this post.  I regret to inform you that one of our family, Masa, has passed on. Masa was the spouse of Coal Silvermuzzle.

Originally from Tokyo Japan, Masa came to Vancouver 2yrs ago to study aviation mechanics and maintenance. His studies took him to Yellowknife, and Coal soon followed.

Respecting the family, Masa's remains are to be returned to Japan for services there.  His fellow employees have started a Go Fund Me Page to help with the costs to transport him home, his parents travel costs, and a translator.  The costs mentioned will be nowhere near the final cost. Please help.

Please make any condolences to Coal Silvermuzzle through this posting or pm through bcfurries.
If you know other contact methods to reach Coal, please do not give out this information without contacting Coal to ask permission to give it out.

My condolences go out to Coal and Masa's family. It is always hard dealing with the loss of someone.
I personally didn't know Masa or Coal but I hope that they both are able to find peace
I only wish I could help out in some way

I have been in communication with Coal over the last few days. He is holding in there.
Masa's family has arrived from Japan and are with Coal in Edmonton at the moment. Masa will be cremated on Friday and will then be taken back to Japan with his family.
Coal will be heading back to the NWT to tie up lose ends and then return to Vancouver when he can.
Once he arrives back home, I am sure there will be many furs out there who will want to wish him well - I will be posting something on how we can all get together to lend him our support.

I saw this through sniffum's post on FB. I am terribly sorry for the loss of this great man. May he find peace as well as his spouse, I hope that he finds closure. Grieving really is difficult...
I am but a blade in the crowd.

I have seen what comes of those who raise themselves above others.

I knew not of Masa, but his and Coal's families have my condolences

Thank you Tokar, sorry I didn't reply before, I just came across this posting.

Thank you to our furry friends for your condolences. It will soon be a year since I lost Masa, I was offered a few times to have a furry wake for Masa. It still hard for me to accept and I think of him often.

When I met Masa back in 2012, I never expected us to be do close, but we grew on each other. In the fall of 2013 Masa moved to Vancouver to live with me and decided to attend BCIT. I have not been very active in the community since we met, in October 2015 Masa and I moved up to the NWT after he graduated from BCIT. We had planned to spend 2 years (his apprenticeship) up there, then hopefully return to Vancouver and civilization together. I never expected to be returning alone, this would have been our third year together as a legal couple.

Masa was a great person and partner, liked by almost everyone he met. He was a little shy and hardly said anything when the first time he met someone, but after awhile he would open up and those people found out how really great a person he was. I often think about our many road trips, and how he would hear something on the radio and start singing. Most people didn't know how good a singer he was or how great his voice was. God I miss him so much, I still hear him singing from time to time and still wake up sometimes expecting him to be there. I'm sorry, I can't go on.

Sorry for going on like this, but this is really the first time I have been able to speak openly since his passing.

Once again thank you.
