I'm just getting into it, surprisingly enough... didn't think it would be my style, or something I like. I wouldn't consider me dark though. Guilty pleasure you could say.

One of my online fur friends sent me a link to YouTube, titled "When Crows Tick On Windows" by CARACH ANGREN, and it is quite dark. For some reason I like it. Another one, "Hoth - Acolyte of the Tenebrous Night". Not the same but kind of similar. I'm not very good with genres. Does anyone know these two, or have any of their own recommendations they would like to share? Feel free to do so! I'm just exploring at this point!

I've not been a huge Black Metal fan, but I did play in a Melodic Death Metal band (Lethal Halo) for a while, put out an EP and toured BC and such.

Blast beats are a lot less prevalent, and the screaming is... different.  Death Metal growls and screams are more gutteral, while Black Metal screams are much higher and almost... breathy?

After our band broke up, the singer moved on to another local Tech-Death band (Revenger) and works on his sludgy Doom Metal project I helped record their demo for (Olde Worlde Nudists).

I don't know where I'm going with this.  I think it's more that I don't know any local Black Metal bands - one neat way to find local metal bands though is to check out the free compilations for the Wacken Metal Battle Canada on Bandcamp. Usually like 20+ tracks, one per band, that are competing that year for a spot at Wacken in Germany.  We did it once but didn't make it past Vancouver. :p

I hope you had fun on your tour, at least! Thank you for sharing~! I love exploring different genres of music.

3 or 4 years ago, I wrote an unblack metal song which was recently composed by a new internet friend of mine and can be found on my FA here:  http://www.furaffinity.net/view/19416262/
